just added it... Works like a charm with both my iPhone and IPad... I think it only works with the latest version of Roku, though (Roku- 3)

I have a naturally smart 3-D blueray player. My Roku is pretty much obsolete.

i have wanted to get a roku or something else that i can watch computer stuff on my tv.

i keep getting stuck on how to get wifi. i need something so i can connect to somewhere but i'm not sure what and i get frustrated and say fuck it :toke:

i have a kindle but can't hook onto any wifi places without a password. :dontknow:

i want to cut back on my cable bill, it's ridiculous and i don't watch 3/4 of the channels, so i may have to get a roku and figure stuff out from there.

You need a wireless router. Pay the geek squad best buy $100 and they'll come set it all up for you.

one of the downsides of my hobby is that i only let strangers in the house during emergencies like a dead water heater.

a wireless router eh? i'm assuming there is a youtube vid to show dummies like me how to set things up.

i need to do some reading. i tried this a couple years ago, got confused and gave up. :jj:

Oh I'm sure there is... how old is the modem provided by your ISP? Most ISPs nowadays only use wireless router/modem combos. You can usually get them to send you an upgrade to their latest equipment if you've had your current shit for awhile.

The combos are MUCH easier to set up.

the modem from my ISP? :dontknow:

i have a cable cord that goes into my cable tv box and using a splitter, another cable that goes to the back of the computer.

the cable box for the tv is old.

    see, i'm frustrated already. :jj:

thanks anyway but this won't end well and you'll have wasted your time. :hat:

huh. my cable company has some info about Wifi from them.

this could help. i pay these people enough, i'll get one of their people to walk me though the wifi part and one of you guys for the roku part. :)

crap, it's only available in CA right now.
i had to read an entire page of small print info about wifi from my cable company. just about the last part of the document they mention that it's in beta and may not be in my area.
    fuckers.

Roku previously stated that it was Youtube themselves that was the problem -- that they hadn't made an app for the Roku -- I wonder if that is bullshit
