A quick, well produced film about the abandoned town in California.

Thanks for posting. I've always wanted to drive out there and check it out, but it definitely won't be during the summer.

Isn't that the movie where Vince D'Onofrio didn't have a nose?

There is a good documentary on Netflix called Abandoned America that talks about this and that ghost town Lasertilt posted about.

Drove out a couple years ago. There was a dinky but cool museum, the Sonny Bono Wildlife Preserve (saw a bobcat), some boiling mud pits and a decent enough place to get a beer and a taco. And that was about it. Think there's a lot of meth in them there hills.
