Howard Stern Syndrome is infecting a comedian once known for being edgy and offensive. ---------------------------------- Sarah Silverman on 2007 Blackface Sketch: 'It's Totally Racist out of Context, and I Regret That' Comedians are known for pushing the envelope when it comes to social issues, but Sarah Silverman admits that at least one of her bits has left her with some regret. On Thursday's Watch What Happens Live, a caller asked Silverman, 44, "What is the most regrettable joke you've ever delivered?" Silverman's jaw dropped, and she sat silent for a moment before host Andy Cohen asked the comic if she had "any jokes that you have felt like, 'Yeah, I wish that I had not [said that]'?" Silverman's answer was mixed: "Yeah – but no in that I like looking back at stuff I did 10 years ago and cringeing. That means I'm growing and changing. I like to be changed by new information." In the episode, "Me and the waiter in the restaurant, played by Alex Désert, switch [races]," she explained. "I say it's harder to be Jewish, and he says it's harder to be black, and we switch for the day. And it's really aggressively stupid, and we're both idiots." In addition to sending up common, offensive stereotypes of both Jewish and African American people, Silverman wore blackface in the bit and later tweeted out a still from the episode for her fans. "Now it's forever there and it looks [like] it's totally racist out of context, and I regret that," Silverman said. "But there's nothing I can do about that."
