it was awful in the early and mid 80s, then it had a little Renaissance, and then right back down the toilet

That show will never be as funny as the days of Sandler, Rock, Farley, Spade, McDonald, Schneider, Hartman etc etc etc. The casts now consist of unfunny, unoriginal bits which are unwatchable.

I don't know why it isn't obvious to the production staff that these skits are running on WAY TOO long and have WAY TOO few lolz :dontknow:

thats true, every skit was funny in that era

DVR is great nowadays though, I can skip most of the show and the shitty musical performance and watch the couple funny sketches within 15 minutes.

Exactly. It's like they are waiting for the live audience to laugh and it isn't coming. It's kind of embarrasing actually. I hate it when people on that show try way too hard too. You ever notice that? It's like they are trying to get noticed "look at me look at me", and in reality they come off looking really fucking dumb.

True. Didn't need the dvr in the 90's though....very sad what it has become.

Seth Myers is the worst Weekend Update host, his delivery is stale and monotone, it seems like every "joke" bombs and he just stares at the camera with a little smirk on his face after each line.

I occasionally go to the local improv, and their shit is consistently funny, and they don't make squat and usually have a regular job -- there is a weird disconnect with entertaining the audience when they put those folks under the bright lights and in front of those cameras

I totally agree here. It was the worst with him and tina fey. They would both do it! Look into the camera, blank stare, audience gives sympathy laugh, repeat.

Wayne's World, Austin Powers, and Shrek are all fucking awesome. So I Married An Axe Murderer was even a little funny.

Which Austin Powers? I am hoping you mean the first one. Because the second and the one with beyonces black azz were NOT funny. And the love guru is possibly the worst movie of all time. And waynes world 2 sucked balls. And Shrek is for children. I like the gingerbread man in it though.

Austin Powers 2 was even better than the first. The third was meh. I didn't mention Love Guru.

Shrek is for everyone. The first is a top ten comedy :cheer:
