Ok, I'll bite...Religion is man made to keep the unwashed masses in line..spirituality is for those evolved beyond the rules of religion....and science is for those of us that need proof..

I am a man of science that was brought up in a religious household... but my parents to their credit allowed us to not blindly follow church dogma and were okay with us coming to our own conclusion as to why we as humans were put on this earth etc...

Science tells us that 13.8 billion years ago that out of nothing an infinitesimally small universe smaller then any atom, in a matter of seconds exploded accelerating faster then the speed of light (which is the absolute speed limit in physics) into
everything that would eventually become the observable universe as we know it..

Now that's some shit to take in..

then you are left with the fact that our galaxies do not have enough matter to produce enough gravity to hold them together ...that in fact there is something called Dark Matter which we can not see or prove exists is holding everything together.. in fact it is now believed that there is more Dark Matter in the universe then observable matter itself..

religion pretty much tell us that an omnipotent being that we can never see created the heavens and the earth

    so whats crazier?

Religion and an invisible man or
Science everything spontaneously came from absolute nothing..??

I honestly hope that this thread can produce some interesting reading.. and doesn't fall into the same old name calling bullshit that is boring as fuck

Xavier you retarded fucker. I call bullshit on your points. You're no man of science..... I got nothing really. Just wanted to call you names.

I don't believe in religion. I do respect what it can do for people when done correctly. The worst part is some of the biggest hypocrites around are the hard core religious people. Organized religion is just as corrupt as our political system (north and south of the border) I could go on and on

Who cares, people believe in something. Either it's a higher power. Or it's no higher power.

    Why argue?

I am not a scientist. I am not a cosmologist.

But there is no way in fuck a mythical being named Yahweh Sabaoth, Lord of Armies, is responsible for creating our world.

And if Yahweh Sabaoth, Lord of Armies, was real and he is busy creating people and then punishing them for sins he knew they would do - eons before those people existed - he can kiss every part of my ass. Maybe he isn't such an omni being in that case. So. Why bother. I am not going to take that shit on faith to feel better about my eventual demise.

I couldn't find the "Eskimo" part of Heathers, but here's a great part about prayer.

Jump to Heather Duke (Shannen Doherty) at 1:13 about "prayer."

    Hee.
