    The Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee have officially declared they will not hold a hearing on anyone President Obama nominates for the Supreme Court.

    In a letter today, signed by all 11 Republicans on the 20-member committee, the members tell their Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, they will “not hold hearings on any Supreme Court nominee until after our next president is sworn in on January 20, 2017.”

    In England, when the government runs for re-election, members of Parliament clean out their desks and cannot go to the office, debate laws, or draw their salary, until they are re-elected.

    If American elected officials would like to stop working until the next election, because they only feel right respecting the decision of the next election, they can feel free to clear their shit out of their desks.

    There is no precedent to block a Supreme Court Justice on this basis!

    Sincerely;

    Barack Obama
    Chuck Schumer
    Joe Biden

    Hey Repub senators, do your jobs.

    Polls in swing states, where many vulnerable Repub senators are up for re-election this year, show that most voters agree, as spelled out in the constitution, that the prez has every right to expect that his nominee will get a hearing.

    Way to hand the Dems a winning issue. I love it.

    New York Sen. Charles E. Schumer, a powerful member of the Democratic leadership, said Friday the Senate should not confirm another U.S. Supreme Court nominee under President Bush “except in extraordinary circumstances.”

    “We should reverse the presumption of confirmation,” Schumer told the American Constitution Society convention in Washington. “The Supreme Court is dangerously out of balance. We cannot afford to see Justice Stevens replaced by another Roberts, or Justice Ginsburg by another Alito.”

    shumars a liberal who wanted to do something liberal.

    we want the 'conservatives' to be just like the liberals, thats standards we have?

    what is wrong with waiting to see who the person is, then voting against him or her if u think they not good for the country? wasnt that the original intention

    It's not that simple. Obama would almost definitely nominate someone who would be bad for the country.
