When all the chips are riding on the all mighty arm, which position is more important?

    The NFL Quarterback?

    or The MLB Pitcher?

The pitcher is a defensive player. Defense is more important than offense.

QB. The best pitcher on earth can't score a run (except in the NL once in a while).

This is true. Plus a pitcher can stink the place out and still win if his offense supports him. You can win 11-10 or lose 1-0. A quarterback can score and give up points. Plus baseball teams carry a ton of pitchers so they can keep bringing in new ones if the guy sucks. Football teams usually have two real quarterbacks and a back up punter who played QB once in the pee wees.

So, your point is that Pitchers are more valuable because they bat .110?

No, my point is pitchers can keep an opposing team of nine or more batters to .000 in a game, and score a run themselves

See Halliday's post season debut a few years back, he went 1 for 3 with an RBI, the Reds went 0 for 27...

Big Ben's 1st superbowl. Show me a pitcher that played like that and won a game 7 or a win & you're in playoff game.

this has always been tough to me. I ALMOST wanna lean toward the pitcher cuz of the Tampa Bay Bucs and Brad Johnson winning a SB. I don't know when slightly average pitching ever won a WS...

I can't think of a pitcher at Dan Marino's level that didn't win a World Series.
