Time for an oil/filter change I usually go with Mobil 1 Synthetic because it is on sale most of the time
no such luck on this service.I've always wanted to try Royal Purple and the cost per quart was comparable $9.50 a quart.

I saw an episode of Hot Rod TV a while back where they chassis dyno'd an LS1 powered Camaro and then flushed all the fluids and replaced them all with Royal Purple fluids and the fucking thing made like 8 more horsepower. Shit blew my fucking mind.

they let you change your own oil in California? I figured that would be a jailing offense in that hippy tree hugging state.

I tend to agree. I'm not a huge fan of the Extra Guard unless you swap it out every 3k but that kinda defeats the whole purpose of synthetic oil. :jj:

I really don't want to shit in anybody's Wheaties but I don't like synthetic oil. It's a marketing ploy for the most part.

That's awesome but it doesn't do you any good when your oil filter media is saturated with gunk.

It's certainly not a bad oil. It is in fact superior to conventional in a lot of ways, but the cost doesn't justify the benefits for the average consumer in my opinion.

I'm not finding fault with it. I'm just saying you can save a bit and end up with essentially the same protection on your current maintenance schedule.
