It was consistently around 1500 posts until fairly recently. Now it is always under 400. If the Wig's show can't keep people on a HS forum board interested in his show then who the hell is actually listening to this crap.

    And, I do mean crap.

For one of the rare times in years I listened to the show live on Weds. I lasted 10 minutes. JD found an assplay instructional video as content for Howard. Howard was droning on and on in a tsunami of boring with JD and Robin laughing at god knows what over a tape that might have been shocking 20 years ago. I don't know if Howard was going for a laugh or not but it was as unfunny as a 1099 form. The studio sounded empty. Howard sounded listless. I could feel through the speaker that Howard wanted to be anywhere else but that studio.

Other than to goof on Howard, I don't know how any of you listen to the show live. I guess habit brings a lot of you in too.

Are you suggesting that Stern isn't still the best thing in radio?

In Howards own words, he described the Wed. show right after he stated the the ZZ Top song "Tush" was his favorite ZZ Top song. "Today has been all about ass". Couldn't have said it better myself howard, your show is ass.

    LOL.

What I heard on Weds was an SNL skit about a clueless old man putting out a ham radio broadcast from his garage trying to ridicule the type of sex his gay neighbors have. It was absolute garbage.

If you were to really analyze the Morning threads, you'll see that at least 50% of those under-400-post threads are off topic because we're bored out of our skulls. :jj:

(You also have to subtract the posts that are before the show starts at 6 am)

Are you in a wheel chair and homebound?

What do you do and what life do you have that gives you the opportunity to be online 24/7 on this page and post in every thread ever.

    What the fuck Mary

    I did notice that.

I usually peruse the daily thread (and Marksfriggin) to see if there is anything on the show worth listening to.

You are right. At one point during that segment, Howard was about to stop listening to the tape for a commerical break. He is just running through the motions at this point.

Later in the broadcast, he said how he wanted to do a music playlist segment, of his own, and he would come in at night for a few hours to do it. At first I actually thought he meant he would do some extra work but no what he meant was tape the segment at night and then replay it during one of his scheduled morning shows (he said he wasn't sure Sirius would allow him to do it).

When getting paid so much can you at least pretend to give a dam.

This is pretty much what the listening thread is about for me:

The show has to be getting better, no? I keep hearing how Howard keeps stirring things up with the staff amping up the pressure to add content.

I heard somewhere that radio is habitual and you need to be on every day.

Maybe someone could pass that along to Howard.

Is that our problem? Have we simply gotten out of the habit?

I'd say that is a HUGE part of the low count on the listening thread. A lot of posters here talk about other shows all the time. Podcasts, other stuff on Sirius, etc.

The funny thing is, as bad as the show was only a year ago, it's gotten exponentially worse in the past year.

I've bailed on the show like six times in the past two months.

Well, I guess like the way a lot of us searched out other podcasts and shows to fill the hole left by the black hole of shit that is the HSS, maybe it's time to start to look for another show (or even a news channel) to build the morning thread around.
