O&A is gone. Opie and Jim Norton show is listenable, but nothing to crow about. Cumia's internet show is a hit or miss as well.

Just like Howard, I suggest you listen to their best of stuff on YouTube. Anthony Cumia forum has some good links to previous O&A classics.

Hello my friend. You can get a taste of their show by doing searches on youtube.

You're going to be the best judge for what you like or dislike.

Give it a try. I know a lot of people here can't stand them, but you never know until you actually try it for yourself.

Oh man. That's hacky on the level of Shuli. I can't even make it to 2 minutes.

I got to disagree. It takes awhile to understand the dynamics of the show.

It's like asking someone new to get into old Stern radio when asking them to listen to only a clip between him and his staff members.

Hmm okay. Maybe I need to hear a couple of full shows then to "get" it.

This Patrice clip kills me - he riffs on Lady Gaga.

But, honestly, if you want to ease into O and A and get a sense of their humor - do a search for Jocktober on YouTube.

Scott and Todd are great targets.

Jocktober is them playing other DJs and talking about how bad other DJs really are. They aren't just being assholes, they show a casual listener how bad the industry really is. They show how uncreative and reliant on hacky tools other shows are. They show you how phony phone callls are all fake, how bits are bought off of websites that make radio bits for hacky shows - Howard has even used some of these.

At the end of Jocktober, they revisit their own show and slam themselves for being just as bad as the other DJs.

    It's good stuff.

Why in the fuck would anyone listen to reruns of this sort of show? Howards reruns don't hold up for shit.

    Opie and jimmy are shit.

Anthony is hit or miss but seems to be getting better and a. The guy is into what he does and b. He seems to be open and honest about most stuff.

I've been pleased with ants podcast

    i enjoy his podcast....i wouldn't have subscribed if i didn't.

I'll check their replay shows on tune in radio when stern is on vacation or around christmas time when everyone is on vacation......but, its not exciting radio at all.
They have some good guests on from time to time.

Opie is an insufferable douche. Norton was great in his old role but is overexposed now. Same with Ant.

If there is a comedian you like those shows are worth listening to on youtube. Otherwise just stick to the episodes or best ofs that have Patrice O'neal, Colin Quinn, Bill Burr, or some combination of them. Voss and Bob Kelly are okay in small doses.

The Jesse Ventura stuff is great. Stick with it.

    Also, a favorite...

This! I truly like Anthony's show....his takes on current events are entertaining and his guest list is getting better and will improve greatly once he starts broadcasting his show from his New built New York city studio.

How about you stop reading Gawker? That would be the best bet.

Best part about listening to radio after the shows are over is that the commercials are removed. Fucking 8 minutes each break.... !

O&J is ok. It's O&J plus the comic of the week. That rotates every few weeks. Talking about the headlines and then spamming plugs every 15 min or so. It was fun listening to for a few months. Sam Roberts show is pretty good though.

I'd like to defend O&A re-runs, as they DO hold up compared to Stern...

Should you start listening? If you are out of podcasts to listen to.. sure, Youtube O&A clips/shows are great!

I'd recommend trying to understand what Patrice was and how lucky O&A and the audience were to hear that almost everyday. It was gold Jerry, Gold!
