[h=1]ABC Shows Canceled: Happy Endings, Body of Proof and More[/h][IMG]Us Weekly

Will there be a happy ending for Happy Endings? ABC canceled the critically adored but low-rated comedy after three seasons on Friday, May 10. Starring Damon Wayans Jr., Eliza Coupe, Elisha Cuthbert, Zachary Knighton, Casey Wilson and Adam Pally, the half-hour comedy was featured in a different timeslot each year. In it most recent season, Happy Endings was moved from Tuesdays to Sundays. It was taken off the schedule before returning with back-to-back episodes on Fridays.

"You guys are rad," Knighton tweeted. "We'll be back." If all goes well, the show will find another network. USA is reportedly interested in picking the series up, just as TBS picked up Cougar Town after it was canceled by ABC in 2012.

ABC canceled four other shows on May 10, including Dana Delaney's Body Of Proof, Sarah Chalke's How To Live With Your Parents (For The Rest Of Your Life), Reba McEntire's Malibu Country and Radha Mitchell's Red Widow. The network had already axed 666 Park Avenue, Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23, Last Resort, Private Practice and Zero Hour from its lineup.
On a more positive note, the network renewed many of its shows, including Scandal, Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family, Nashville, Suburgatory, Once Upon a Time, Castle, Last Man Standing, The Middle and Revenge. It has yet to announce whether Family Tools and The Neighbors will be returning for more seasons.

NBC canceled a string of shows, too, including Smash, The New Normal, Whitney, Go On, 1600 Penn, Guys With Kids, Up All Night and Deception. The network previously removed Animal Practice and Do No Harm from its lineup. Fox chose not to renew Touch for a third season after canceling Ben & Kate earlier this year. CBS will no longer air CSI: NY, Rules of Engagement, Vegas or Golden Boy.

Wow. That Sarah Chalke show was on for what? One episode?

And Dana Delaney's show got canceled because they kept dicking around with its time slot and when the new season would air.

NOW HOW AM I GOING TO GET MY JERI RYAN FIX? :pissed:

Touch with Kiefer Sutherland. They are now talking about reviving 24. He has realized no one wants to see him as a wimpy guy in a paranormal show.

    Broadcast ax: Cancelled shows 2012-13

    by James Hibberd

    Whack!
    Boom! And, yes, Smash!

The 2012-13 broadcast season has racked up quite a high body count. In fact, there’s been 16 17 18 cancellations (and counting!) in the last 48 hours as networks prepare for their upfront presentations to advertisers in New York City next week (including six sitcoms on NBC alone).
Here’s a list of shows this season that were either cancelled or were put out to pasture with a “final season order” (the nice version of cancelled):

    Deception (NBC)
    : Cancelled.
    Animal Practice (NBC): Put down.
    Do No Harm (NBC): Harmed.
    30 Rock (NBC): Over.
Guys with Kids (NBC): You can’t believe how cancelled this is.
    The Office (NBC): Closed.
    Smash (NBC): Smushed.
Up All Night (NBC): Christina Applegate quit: This was cancelled … by its own star!
    Whitney (NBC): Thankfully.
    1600 Penn (NBC): Impeached.
    Made in Jersey (CBS): Terminated.
    Private Practice (ABC): Spin-off heaven.
    Partners (CBS): Dumped
Ben & Kate (Fox): & Cancelled.
    Vegas (CBS): Lost.
    Go On (NBC): Get out.
    Fringe (Fox): R.I.P.
    Touch (Fox): Touchable.
    The Job (CBS): What?
The Mob Doctor (Fox): Ha! That title. Yeah. Deceased.
Don’t Trust the B– in Apt. 23 (ABC): Speaking of: Did anyone really believe a comedy with “B—-” in the title was going to last?
    666 Park Avenue (ABC): Hellbound.
    Last Resort (ABC): Indeed.
    Rules of Engagement (CBS): Broken.
    Golden Boy (CBS): Tarnished.
CSI: NY (CBS): Two down, one to go.
Zero Hour (ABC): Zero something all right.
Emily Owens, M.D. (The CW): Crashed.
How to Live with Your Parents (ABC): Evicted.
    Red Widow (ABC): Exterminated.
    Body of Proof (ABC): D.O.A.
The New Normal (NBC): Or not.
    Family Tools (ABC): Put away.
    Malibu Country (ABC): Overthrown.
Happy Endings (ABC): Until this happened.
    90210 (The CW): Finished.
    Cult (The CW): Unfollowed.
UPDATES TO COME…. REFRESH FOR LATEST…
THESE ARE SOME SHOWS STILL ON BUBBLE OR FATE UNCONFIRMED:
    Hannibal (NBC)

I hate that guy so much. He goes to all of these despotic countries and kisses the ass of the government while glossing over their history. Being more on topic, I'm glad I got rid of my cable tv and just went to streaming services. Most of what is on cable now is awful.

I think the only shows I watch on "Broadcast" Networks are Supernatural, Big Bang Theory, and Two Broke Girls.

Actually, the cable channels are producing some of the best television in decades. It's the networks who suck ass.
Many of these shows, over the past 10 years or so have a cult-like following:

    • Breaking Bad (AMC)
    • Mad Men (AMC)
    • The Walking Dead (AMC)
    • Game of Thrones (HBO)
    • The Newsroom (HBO)
    • True Blood (HBO)
    • Dexter (Showtime)
    • Boardwalk Empire (HBO)
    • The Sopranos (HBO)
    • Justified (FX)
    • The Shield (FX)
    • Damages (FX - later, DirecTV)
I'm sure there are a lot more. Cable TV has really become the place to watch quality programming.

There's a four-episode documentary called America in Primetime. It's pretty good; it goes over how television has changed over the past 60+ years.

    Check it out.

There are too many "Reality" programs on ... everywhere. Programming is worse than it was in the 1970s.
