Putting this thread in the Stern forum because I saw pictures of the amazing Beth O at the premiere, and because Bradley Cooper is allegedly a "friend" of the show.

That said, Silver linings Playbook is an excellent movie. It really can't be categorized as strictly a drama, or comedy, or romance, because it balances all three of those elements so well. Robert DeNiro is vintage DeNiro, and Cooper shows acting range I didn't think he had. It's night and day comparing him to this and something like The Hangover.

The best performance comes from Jennifer Lawrence, who manages to be a whole bunch of things in this film--funny, sexy, bat-shit crazy, sad, vulnerable, compassionate. There aren't many locks when it comes to the Academy Awards, but she is about a 100% lock to win best actress as I can imagine. She's a wonder.

Highly recommended. If you take a date to see this movie, chances are you will get laid that night.

Its a good movie...hard not to like....but for every shitty 40 movies Hollywood cranks out, you get a handful of decent ones. Argo was alright, but it has no business getting the massive acclaim it has...the entire entertainment industry is in the shitter.

But she's the perfect mix of Renee Zellweger and Juliette Lewis!

Hollywood loves her. Get ready for 5-10 more years of her. In everything.

I saw SLP last week & I absolutely loved it!
This & Lincoln have been my favorite so far. Zero Dark Thirty was good too.
    I thought Les Mis sucked.
Going to try to see Argo this weekend.

I thought it was a good movie, better than expected. Argo, Zero Dark Thirty, Lincoln were all good. The one that entertained me the most was Django Unchained. I thought Leo Di Caprio was great in it.:coffee:

    Juliette Lewis - Consistently skinny.

Jennifer Lawrence - Chunky by 20.

I didn't want to like it, but I ended up loving it. Had a free movie pass, tho. Otherwise, I would have waited for Netflix.

I watched the first 20 or 30 minutes before the JL part, kind of got bored.

    Hopefully, I'll finish it up.

I'm a huge DeSean Jackson fan...

Agree with you on all counts here!!!

By far the best movie I've seen for a long time.

Lawrence, Cooper and DeNiro (as well as the rest of the cast) were excellent!

This is definitely deserved of Oscar consideration.

Oh, and you are soooo right about getting laid after this movie.
My lady blew the hell out of me not once, but twice!!!

seems like a rip off of two other movies:

    A Murder of Crows

and some Lifetime movie starring Crystal Bernard.

I loved A Murder of Crows.
