Putting this thread in the Stern forum because I saw pictures of the amazing Beth O at the premiere, and because Bradley Cooper is allegedly a "friend" of the show. That said, Silver linings Playbook is an excellent movie. It really can't be categorized as strictly a drama, or comedy, or romance, because it balances all three of those elements so well. Robert DeNiro is vintage DeNiro, and Cooper shows acting range I didn't think he had. It's night and day comparing him to this and something like The Hangover. The best performance comes from Jennifer Lawrence, who manages to be a whole bunch of things in this film--funny, sexy, bat-shit crazy, sad, vulnerable, compassionate. There aren't many locks when it comes to the Academy Awards, but she is about a 100% lock to win best actress as I can imagine. She's a wonder. Highly recommended. If you take a date to see this movie, chances are you will get laid that night.
