Sinatra 100th birthday is coming up this year. Always heard his music growing up because of my father..... because his father was a huge fan. The more I read about him, the more I learn about his connections, life, anger and music. Real old school stuff. This guy would chew up the young singers and music BS of today ha. Thought I'd post some pics, but I ask, did Sinatra at create the first "selfie" in his bathroom at 23 yrs old??!!!........

Hey LT, your pictures never cease to amaze. My first thought on these is: Shepard Smith looks a lot like Frank.

And, of course, Best Supporting Actor for "From Here to Eternity" - a real superstar.

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Mr. Sinatra and his wife when he was appearing at the Golden Nugget
Casino in Atlantic City N.J. 1980-1983.I worked security and was their personal escort one night when he filmed a commercial
    for the casino.

I bought tickets for my parents to see Sinatra at Kemper Arena in 1985. They were 30.00 dollars a piece, and they thought I was crazy for paying that much for concert tickets. :)

My mom was an original bobby-soccer. I discovered her old albums when I was a young teen in the early '70s and became a great lover of the American standards and vocalist of the '30s, '40s &'50s. I was considered an oddball among my peers, but I didn't give a shit. I was never a follower. I knew what I liked and I liked Frank, Dean, Bing and the rest. To me they were a lot cooler than any of the current rock stars. I was lucky enough to see Sinatra in concert anytime he played the New York area right up til the sad end of his career. I saw him when he was still great. I saw him when he was past his prime and should never have been allowed to continent to go on stage. Towards the end I stopped watching him, where he could no longer hit the high notes, when he forgot the lyrics, etc and I then started concentrating on the audience. They would yell out "We love you Frank!" and support him. On occasion, when the old Sinatra would appear during a certain number they'd scream "Sell it Frank!" and he would. I realized they like myself weren't there to hear a great singer (those days were gone forever), they were there to see an institution. Yeah, he was crumbling before our eyes, but that didn't matter. He was like the airing Roman Colluseum. Despite the age he was grand and majestic. A legend. We knew it was the end, but it didn't matter, we were lucky enough to witness it and say goodbye.
