When I was a little kid, my mom would buy meat from him.

I have faint memories of him as a butcher.

When Saget was coming up as a comedian, he was a butcher at Canter's, this very famous restaurant in Los Angeles right across the street from my high school.

It's open 24 hours, and everybody from Marilyn Monroe to Cary Grant have eaten there.

It's also a few blocks from where Dancing with the Stars and American Idol film.

Curb Your Enthusiasm and Entourage are also filmed there.

In the mid-80s, this band called Guns N Roses met each other at Canter's and would use the restaurant as their office.

In fact, the current owner of Canter's went to high school across the street with Slash, and just wrote a book about them.

Guns N' Roses: Appetite for Pastrami
