I apologize if this is mentioned elsewhere, but this seems shocking ... and plausible. According to Artie on a recent podcast, Simon & Schuster tried to buy ads for "Crash and Burn" on Sirius but were turned down. These wouldn't need to be live reads but could be third party read spots.

So Sirius can run ads for payday loans, testical deodorant, cheat sites and toilet seats, but they can't run an ad from one of the country's top publishers?

This is pretty despicable, if Howard blacklisted the ads.

I wonder if they asked Howard if he was ok with it and he said no or did they just assume Howard would not want Artie ads running on Sirius.

But Ashley Madison is A-OK! idiots. Stern would read an ISIS recruiting ad before any paid promo for his onetime "bro".

Now guys, come on. Let's be fair.

It's as plain as the nose on your face that the only reason Howard's trying to kill Artie's book sales is because he's concerned about the big lug. He loves Artie, he wishes Artie all the best. But Artie's been through some tough times and Howard doesn't want to be the one responsible for Artie having any more career successes that might lead to a relapse.

Don't you guys pay attention? :giggle:

Isn't Howard's buddy Ross Zapin in charge of the ad department at SiriusXM? Wouldn't be surprised if he ran it by Howard and was asked to torpedo it.

Sirius: "Listen, we love Simon & Schuster. They're a big talent, and we wish them all the best. What more can we say that we haven't already addressed yet?"

I think they wanted to buy ads on Howard's show only, not the rest of Sirius

Artie did a major disservice to Howard by trying to kill himself and not dying. Howard's first Artie related wish would be that he never tried to kill himself, but his close second would be that he succeeded. Because it's always all about Howard and the situation Artie put him in is tough for a coward. So Howard has tried to basically treat this as if Artie did die. He refused his ads? That's awful. We are supposed to believe Howard loves Artie and is only concerned about his well being? I'd like to hear Howard's explanation for refusing to allow Artie to buy ads for his new ventures. A real explanation, I mean. Not the one he'd be sure to give if confronted. "How do I know what ads they take? I don't have anything to do with that. Right, Robin?"

    Howard is scum.

I think you are correct. That pos scumbag zapin probably felt he needed to keep Howard happy or the sex tape zapin made with heather Clem would somehow get released.

Isnt that the same publisher that puts out the beautiful Beth O's literary works?
