Coward Alien Stern obviuosly knew about this before it was announced.

Sirius XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) named interim Chief Executive Officer James Meyer to the job permanently, solidifying the satellite-radio company’s leadership after a takeover by billionaire John Malone earlier this year.

Meyer will assume the role immediately, the New York-based company said today in a statement. He had taken the job on an interim basis in December after longtime CEO Mel Karmazin resigned. Before that, Meyer had served as Sirius’s president of sales and operations since 2004.........................

Former colleagues have described Meyer as the former "No. 2" executive who worked closely with Karmazin for eight years. Meyer told investors last quarter not to expect any big changes under him as he focuses on subscriber growth with a tight focus on costs.

However, people who have worked with Meyer say he lacks strong programming experience. A large part of Sirius XM's business involves securing high-profile contracts with talent, such as radio host Howard Stern, and airing exclusive content to keep subscribers paying for the service.

I was thrown off by this being released today because I thought it was old news. Jim Meyer has been the Interim CEO for Months. All this Press Release is saying is that they are sticking with him and making him the Official CEO.

The company’s subscriber growth continued to be a bright spot, even after a rare price increase last year. It was the first time Sirius has ever raised the subscription rate; XM had done it once before. Sirius XM gained 453,000 subscribers in the quarter, bringing its total to 24.4 million. Over the last two years its subscriber ranks have grown 19 percent

What kind of name is Meyer?

Do you really have to be Jewish to work at Sirius?

who are these 24.4 million retards?????
To many people with to much money...

"You know Robin, 60% listens exclusive to my show."

    Just imagine Howard's meetings:
"If I do an internet radio show with SIM cards. 17 million subscribers x 10 dollars!!!"

That's the problem with Anglicizing names. It could be Scandinavian (Meijer), German/Slavic (Meier) or Scottish/Irish/Welsh (Mayer).

Listening to bubba today, he touched on this. Said Meyer taking over was the thing that needed to happen for them to come back. He also said Meyer is a fan of bubba.

Don't buy into their bullshit. In 2012 about 14,000,000 new cars were sold in the US alone. That was over a million more than were sold in 2011. I am sure Ford, GM, etc etc pay to put Sirius/XM in these cars for the trial period, i.e. most of these cars come with free trial subscriptions to Sirius/ XM for 6 or 12 months. The "new" subscribers are simply a function of more cars being sold in 2012 than 2011....

No way. According to Howard those are all former listeners that "came over after seeing Howard on AGT and wondering, Hey I wonder what he is doing over on Sirius".
