So last night, I visited The McKittrick Hotel on w. 27th street in NYC for my 2nd time attending Sleep No More. It's an "interactive theater" presentation which consists of 3 adjacent warehouses that were gutted and designed with over 100 individual rooms based on the film noir (1920's - 30's) era. The theater story is based loosely on Macbeth with a healthy dose of Hitchcock. I don't really know how to describe it other than to say it's truly like stepping back in time in that you touch, smell, see, hear, feel and taste exactly what you would imagine that era to be like. The bar (full service with drinks from that era) is what most of us would imagine a speakeasy looking like including generous absinthe pours. All guests are required to wear a mask and you cannot speak once the experience has begun.

I was pulled into two different 1:1 "experiences" which consists of being pulled from a group of about 12 - 18 people into a closed room where the actor or actress continues the story line (in character) individually - with just you (or me in this case). It's a completely immersive and in some cases an unsettling experience. There is complete nudity (both men an women) and very little dialogue. Your environment is 100% interactive. The props are all real items which you can pick up (and could take with you). The whole place smells old and dusty and feels incredibly eerie. I cannot recommend this enough. It's not cheap (tix were $86 and drinks were about $12 each) but if you want to take 3 - 4 hours out of your trip to NYC to step back in time, look into Sleep No More...

Shitty answer but yes and no. There is so much to see that you can't see it all in one visit so yes, my experience was definitely different from the first time. I got home around 11AM today and I'm already looking into going back sometime next month. There's more that I still haven't seen...

Did you feel like Tom Cruise in Eyes Wide Shut? Didn't it make you feel kinda gay?

Is it scary? I can't do scary. Otherwise, I love new adventures.
