‘Live’ from Rio: Leslie Jones has arrived, ready to tweet By Christine Burroni August 11, 2016 | 1:18pm Leslie Jones has arrived in Rio. The “Saturday Night Live” star turned Olympic live-tweet enthusiast, has made her way to the Games as part of NBC’s Olympic coverage. Jones wasted no time posting the sights and scenes of Brazil upon her arrival. Armed with her own Snapchat filter, Jones has coined the catchphrase “Slay all day” to keep cheering on Team USA. NBC picked up on Jones’ love for everything #Rio2016 after seeing her tweets and videos complete with up-to-the-minute commentary and unrivaled support for Team USA. Jones has supported individual athletes with direct mentions on Twitter, with some noticeable extra love to history making Michael Phelps and the women’s gymnastics team. “The Ghostbusters” actress was recently the victim of racist attacks on social media originally prompted by her tweet about designers not wanting to make her a dress for the movie’s premiere. After Christian Siriano stepped in to save the day, relentless Twitter trolls caused Jones to take some time off from posting but she has since returned to the Twitterverse. Now back in full-social media force on site in Rio, her commentary is definitely gold medal worthy.
