Rocky is back... again  in a new movie about Apollo Creed's son.

Hollywood apparently has one last load to shoot in the corpse of the Rocky franchise.

Do any of you who actually saw the original Rocky in theaters plan on going to see this? If they stopped after Rocky 2, wouldn't it be remembered as one of the better franchises of the 70s? Sly really milked every last drop out of this.

I saw Rocky at the RKO Keiths in Flushing in 1976...thought is was great. thought the second movie was good. the rest went downhill fast. Just like planet of the apes. saw the first one in 1968 at the loews prospect in flushing thought it was great, thought the second one was almost as good the rest went downhill fast. Will not go to see this creed thing ..

Love the idea. The execution looks a bit bland.
A bigger Rocky fan you will not find.

Thanks for sharing. I really appreciated the first and second Rocky films, but find the newer films nauseating. I'm in my 20s so I was curious how people felt about these new films who actually saw the original as it was coming out and still a big deal.

I - V. was it. It needed no more. This Rocky Balboa bullshit and (too early to say) probably this are just stupid.

Didn't they already try a storyline with the kid? Rocky's son in IV, right?

So Apollo's wife from Rocky IV turned into Phylisha Rashad. Well, there's misstep #1.

Rocky's son in IV was just a little kid. Rocky's kid (Stallone's kid in real life) had a partial storyline in V. He passed away in real life a few years ago.
Then there was some storyline with the son in Rocky Balboa (shit movie) and the actor was horrible. Much worse than Stallone's real kid in V.

I was thinking of the storyline w/ the son in Rocky Balboa :snicker: Do they ever refer to Creed's kid in the later films?

Most people did. V was a perfect closer in my opinion because the student became the teacher and the movie knew that he was a bit old for the ring, which is why a street fight was suitable. Going into the ring in Rocky Balboa was ridiculous as was the entire movie.

As a kid who grew up in the 80s, I will watch any movie with Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Gibson, Norris, etc. I can justify this because I know what I am getting into. Listen, they all pretty much suck, but at the same time they are kind of awesome.

Creed looks predictable. Good choice to keep Rocky in the shadows but it looks all hip hoppy and shit which is lazy. Give us more Apollo and Duke backstory. Hopefully they do.

Looks like he is training in Micky's gym which is lazy as well. Would have been a better decision to train in Apollo's original LA gym from Rocky 3.

My wife is an extra in this, she's in the crowd for fight scenes, obviously she doesn't know yet if she'll be visible.
