He's such a nerd
I'm pretty sure that my version of hell has the 'music' of Skrillex as its soundtrack.
I'm a fan of a lot of different electronic music, but dubstep (notably skrillex) is absolute nails on chalkboard to me
Deadmau5 is worse than the Skrillex I've heard so far.
I decided to pass him over for Arcade Fire at a festival a few years ago, and am really happy with my choice. He is another guy who I cant get into, at all (though I can listen to his genre from time to time). I guess I prefer him over Skrillex, because I can tolerate house more than dubstep. But, if I was going to listen to some house music, there would be a rolodex of others before Deadmau5
Yeah, you seem to be rather snobby in your DJ tastes, so please, expose me to some good DJs.
I prefer shit like breakbeats, and some D and B.
Lo Fidelity All Stars
DJ John Kelley
Death in Vegas
Is that a High School auditorium?
Are you still going to his show this weekend? I saw the tickets were only $24
I got a ticket to see him Sunday night at some club on Broadway called Parq.
I think I fucked up.
Yeah, I saw hes playing 2 shows, one at 4pm, and then the other one at this club on Broadway.
I'd rather go see him at the 4pm show.
Phish is also streaming their shows this weekend from Colorado. I'm pretty sure that Chigs has to be going to those shows. Any rate, the webcasts are pretty dope, and I'm thinking about that too.
A lot of the electronic genre names are a bit incestuous, so its hard for me to classify. I like breakbeats/D&B/trip-hop a lot. Also really like funky Space Disco stuff. Some Psyctrance is okay, but that can be a little much for me.
Long story short, I like DJ's that use a lot of texture, and create a moodier, cerebral, sound. The reason I cant get into Dubstep outfits (guys like Knife Party and Skrillex), is because it is too in your face, and becomes noise for noise sake.
Some DJs/production teams I enjoy are
Tiger & Woods
Telefon Tel Aviv
Boards of Canada
Obviously, there are a lot of bands and such with electonic overtones, but I wouldnt classify them in the genre as well.
Theres more, but I think that will give you a decent blueprint of the type of electronic music I listen to.
Yes, I will be there all three nights. With Trey touring to support his solo album, it appears as though there will be no fall tour. Which means I am stuck on show 119 for the year.
I like to watch TV.
A new(ish) breakbeat dude I dig is sbtrkt. Definitely not the end all be all, but worth a listen
