terrible. I turned it off when I saw Drunk Uncle.
didn't even turn my television on
I can't believe that with Kristin Wiigward, who is give or take in the top 3 female cast members of all time it's THIS bad??? And not being hamstrung by some one-trick-pony like Christopher Walken as host where you could do ANYTHING makes this even more more baffling at the utter sloppy, lazy redundancy of every sketch. It's like Benjy is writing for them.
These guys broke more characters than Gary Puppet's twitter feed. The laughing through bad sketches is maddening, and I used to think was a fireable offense.
I can't think of one funny thing she's ever done. wow, she talks funny and does something weird with her eyes. HILARIOUS. let's turn that into 20 different charactrs.
I see what you're saying but you may have missed a few impressions she's done that I happened to catch and like. One was the best Kathie Lee Gifford I've seen since Jan Hooks in the early 90s, possibly better. I remember a killer Drew Barrymore, Kris Jenner, and Suze Orman too.
I don't know, this shit is soo subjective I can't expect you to like what I like.
I haven't watched SNL in years . . .
I totally get that, and I just try to tune in based on the host. When I saw Wiigward I thought it would just be game-on for whatever. But as USUAL I got burned by the writing (lack there of) and pissed away yet another 90 minutes of my existence.
I'm pretty much convinced that comedy died about 10 years ago.
A basement dweller who makes laughably bad phony phone calls talking shit about an icon like christopher walken bahah, what a jag off.
Wiig and Maya Rudolph are talented so I thought it would be way better. Opportunity wasted by shitty writing.
"Basement dweller" original shit, what's next, your "Aquaman talks to fish" rant from 1987? You got any more cliches' for us, or do we have to go back to SFN for that?
I don't like Christopher Walken, he's an overrated one-trick-pony to me. I don't care how hip you think you are saying you love DEER HUNTER and the fucking "more cow-bell" sketch. I just don't dig him anymore as I got older and saw he had no at close range, get over it. I guess I see how other people might love Walken's perptual creep-factor, and does it make ME better than you, or YOU better than me for gushing over him lazily playing himself every film for 45 years, probably not?!
here's a good scene with him from true romance.
he tends to play more of a supporting role.
I get it, and I get you may like him. I'm not foisting my taste on anyone, and he's good at that ONE thing. Maybe it's just me but I've gotten burned out on the likes of him over the years in favor of those people who just transform into someone else besides themselves every turn.
For years I'm just trying to figure out the difference between the Christopher Walken character you show me in TRUE ROMANCE and this one in say NICK OF TIME?
That's a great opinion! We're gonna have to listen to your vast library together and compare, so you can show everyone how it's done.
If it's ANYTHING like the 1987 cliche' laden "basement dweller" horseshit you use on message boards I can't wait!?!
I've never seen that character before in my life. Was that popular?
She was good when she was at her peak on SNL several years ago but wow, she sucked tonight. That show has seriously deteriorated. The writing is awful and Lorne Michaels needs to pack it in and retire. NBC will never get rid of it since they have nothing else to replace it with.
