50 minutes into the 4/1/16 podcast #228 (listen a couple minutes before and after for context), Artie is mid rant about all the things that have happened to him the last decade (final sirius contract was $900k) and gets to Nick Dipaolo as well as the status of a bunch of other people (colin quinn, richard/sal, levy, lisa lampanelli) etc that were on the stern roasts). Now we all know things can't have possibly been great between the two seeing as how they never got together after Nick's boot from the show and never did anything together, yet Artie still referred to him regularly as a friend or good friend and definitely never mentioned a falling out.

on Nick Dipaolo today: "Nick and I were great friends" then a bunch of stuff about the direct tv show and things that went on around that time, including starting the podcast with Dan then "and me and Nick don't talk anymore." and then "apparantly we don't talk anymore" then "I would talk to him. No, we are all right (said laughing/sarcasticlly)?"

    edit: TLDR/WGAS WGAF

edit 2: still sniffling/snorting/snotting after a month with this cold/flu/allergies.

    edit 3: a quarter a day....

That was the only thing worth hearing on the whole podcast.Nick doesn't want to talk to Artie anymore and who could blame him.No one really wants to anymore other than Dan.Its sad.I guess their is no chance of a Nick and Artie reunion show anytime soon.Bummer.

Nick had been fairly dismissive of the Artie questions over that last few years.

He either acknowledges they have no beef/are still friends (albeit in a very "official statement" kind of way) or simply refuses to talk about it.

I should point out: Artie WAS on Nick's podcast after The Artie Lange Show bit the dust. It was just the one time, though, and Nick has NEVER been on AQP.

Yeah, it sounds as if some of the gang is still hanging with Artie to an extent, but Nick is doing his own thing. The few times he has mentioned Artie he has referred to him as "Artie Lange", not so much for the listeners' benefit, which seems strange considering how tight they once were.

Nick and Artie are not bros anymore. I imagine a lot of folks have cut Artie out of their lives. No more big gigs sharing the stage with other big comedians in Atlantic city. He is down to degrading the open mic folks who gain a handful of Twitter followers since they are on the podcast.

There may be some clues in that old NDP. First, Nick asks Artie what happened in Detroit. Artie lies.
After the truth came out, Nick probably resented Artie lying to his face and using his podcast as a megaphone to spread his bullshit to everyone.

Later, Artie teases that he and Nick would be doing some shows together.
That never happened. Nick was probably looking forward to that.

Re-listening to it inspired me to check out Nick's podcast again. I haven't listened regularly in months. Always good to hear Nick's take on things, although he can go overboard with the politics.

Sounds like Nick and the podcast are doing well. His subscriber-casts are gaining numbers and he's getting more and more acting work.

You how Nick did all this? By being really fucking good at comedy.
Unlike Artie. Artie could learn a thing or two from his old pal Nick.

Nick is a fantastic stand up comic. I've seen him a few different times and here's a shocker....he had new material each time.

Something Art would know nothing about.

"Wah wah I got fired from the Nick and Artie show and Artie wouldn't walk out with me."

This isn't socialism Nick. Aren't you like a big crusader against socialism?

The analogy to socialism would be if Nick tried to forced Artie to walk out against his will.

I don't think Artie should have quit (even though a "Friends" type solidarity might have landed them another gig elsewhere) but he should have shown more solidarity with Nick who picked Artie out of his post suicide funk and gave him the job.

Your right Nick and Art should have unionized. Another thing Nick is a huge fan of.

I don't think Nick has a problem with unions. I think Nick has a problem with Unions that are bed with the government that force their will on companies and employees. And Nick and Artie sticking together to sell their product to another bidder isn't what today's unions do.

I like nicks podcast but I found it better when he had a guest with him. I found after a while his voice kinda drones on and he is annoying to listen too

Agreed. If Nick had a regular guest or co-host I'd listen more. My problem was I'd marathon his episodes and they were always Nick bitching about the same stuff. He makes good points on occasion, but it's just too much.

Can somebody tell me when Artie sat in during Nick's podcast? This is what I don't understand. If they had a falling out and haven't spoken since Nick was booted, when was this recorded?

Thank you. This makes sense after listening to Nick's podcast with Artie. I can only surmise, then, that Artie felt guilty and offered to be a guest on Nick's podcast, and aside from this exception, they haven't spoken. The podcast was great and there didn't seem to be any awkwardness, but from reading in-between the lines, Nick was hurt because he set up the Nick and Artie show from the beginning and then Artie didn't stand up for him when they wanted him booted. Then because of his guilty conscience, Artie helped Nick out by being on his podcast, and it wasn't in itself enough to get their relationship back on track enough that they keep in contact today.

Other than the Joe Matarese and Bob Kelly ones I haven't been really keeping up with the Podcast lately. When he mixes it up with a guest their is no better podcast in my opinion, it's a more balanced show.On the solo ones though he comes off as such a crybaby with the same political rants every show,it's boring and depressing.Even though I agree with 99% of what he's saying,it just overkill. No wonder the guy can't sleep,he's got politics on the brain 24/7.

I'd subscribe to Nick's podcast in a second if it was Joe List, Colin Quinn, even Materese guesting. I'd even do it if it was a 50% politics, 50% comedy ratio. But straight politics is too much.
