I want to buy some new headphones with good sound quality and noise canceling features. Doesn't have to be top of the line but I certainly don't want bargain basement either. Does anyone have a recommendation for headphones they are pleased with and where they bought them? Thanks for your assistance with this matter. ;)

for a great pair of headphones at a really good price look for Koss. If you buy a lot of monster cables for your TV's and shit then buy some Dr. Dre Beats. Also, look for a 60ohm input impedance if it's for a portable player. It'll save you on battery life.

I gave up on expensive headphones long ago--I ruin them frequently. They get all tangled up and break, or get caught in something and break. I put up with lower quality for the cost savings.

This. Bose is perhaps the most successful scam in the history of electronics. For one, they're price fixed. Retailers can't mark them down. Second, they tune their speakers to make certain sounds stand out, thus making people think they sound good. They simply don't hold up when compared to equally priced competitors.

I got a set for Christmas. I didn't even know I wanted them. My wife heard me complain about ear buds and bought these for me. Are they great audiophile headphones? No way. I really expected that I'd be either returning them or leaving them in a corner somewhere gathering dust. Turns out, I really like them. The range is surprisingly good. I have a 2800 sq ft house and I can almost go anywhere in it if I leave my iPhone in a central location. For podcasts and streaming music, they're not bad at all. They sound better than an inexpensive pair of buds. The battery life is pretty good. I've had them on for as long as 4 hours and they didn't die out. For the price, I don't think they can be beat.

Do you want little earbuds or full size headphones?

The first brands I thought of are Sennheiser or Sony Studio Monitors, but Klipsh usually makes badass stuff...

I hate earbuds so I couldn't say much there.
