Anthony James "Tony O" Esposito (born April 23, 1943) is a retired Canadian-American professional ice hockey goaltender, who played in the National Hockey League, most notably for the Chicago Black Hawks. He was one of the pioneers of the now popular butterfly style. Tony is the younger brother of Phil Esposito, a centre. Both brothers had notable careers and are enshrined in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

He's also a very nice guy to talk to. He is very accessible when he comes to the Hawks games. Stan Mikita and Bobby Hull are the same way. Hockey players are cut from a different cloth than football or basketball players.

true that....i was building intersection lights right outside the sheraton hotel which is where lots of players and people stay when they are going to perform at the scottrade center...and i had a foreman that was a good friend of mine and a huge hockey fan.....

we worked so early in the morning that i saw the players when they walked to practice...back to hotel and then to the game...

after about the 8th guy in street clothes went by and he named everyone ...i got the idea to get autographs for him so maybe i could get off early and it worked...

    they couldnt have been nicer...

i had him tell me a little info about them so i had something to start the conversation out with...after that they really seemed like a regular joe.....some stopped by and talked to us...there were a bunch of stars new ones and retired that do commentary.and travel with the team..a bunch from canada and different countries that were the best apparently...a few of them were dicks

but i got so many autographs for my buddy he would arrange us working down there on days the blues were at home it was the best time ive ever had doing construction.....there were so many stars walking out of that place ....eventually we got numb to it and had to fucking finish the job

99 percent of the hockey guys were nothing but straight up nice...i think mostly since we werent groupies and were construction workers....

Yeah Chelios used to have a restaurant in Chicago that we would hit after the game. All of the players, Chelly especially would sign an autograph for anybody who asked. Then they would go to the back and have a private party.

Next time you hit Chicago you have to go by the United Center and check out the Mikita and Hull statues. Really cool.
