2nd show at Gillette Stadium, Foxboro MA. My youngest son and I had tickets for the 9th row on the field, a bit to the left of the stage. We had a huge HD screen right in front of us. No guest appearances (Adler, Izzy). They did play "Catcher In The Rye" from Chinese Democracy for the first time live, though.

Let me just say this: if Guns N' Roses are coming to your city later this summer, DO NOT MISS IT. The hype is real. It is easily the best GN'R show I've seen (this was my third time seeing the band in one lineup or another).

Slash is a fucking guitar GOD. He is sober, and playing like a man with something to prove. It was always my believe that Axl pushed Slash to be a better guitar player. When he left in '96, he did his solo/Snakepit/Velvet Revolver stuff, and frankly, it was never all that great. He belongs where he is right now.

Richard Fortus would be a lead guitarist in a lot of other bands. He is excellent; he and Slash traded solos on a couple of songs, and they also collaborated on an instrumental of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here".

Duff is Duff. Lean, and sounding better on backing vocals than I can ever remember. He sang lead on only one song last night, the cover of "Attitude" from The Spaghetti Incident?! He is the MVP of the band; it was him that got Axl and Slash back on speaking terms.

Axl fucking Rose. He sounded better ten years ago, but still sounds shockingly good for 54. Seems happier now than at any point since Guns N' Roses became famous 30 years ago. What he's lost in vocal range (which isn't much), he makes up for in charisma, swagger, and stage presence. Whether you love him or despise him, he is a legendary frontman, and appearing to make a genuine attempt to win back the fans he probably lost over the last twenty years. It's like he finally understands that he alone is not Guns N' Roses.

I took some photos, and took a video of "You Could Be Mine". I'm disappointed the video quality wasn't better for an Apple iPod Touch, but whatever.

The set list looks great. Thanks for the info.

I think that lot of people don't want to see them do well ( because Axl is a dick) but I'm still trying to figure out how he can do a GnR stadium reunion tour and still do AC/DC shows in between without a blow out yet.
Talk about going from zero to 60 .
I hope that they can keep it going.

That's exactly how it was in Foxboro. Sold out Tuesday, probably 60% capacity at the show I attended.

If you or someone you know is going to the second show, and it's not selling well, it is very possible that upper deck seats can be traded in for lower deck or field seats. I had upper deck seats for Gillette, and was told we could trade them in for lower level or field seats.

Lenny opened at our show, too. Turned "Always On The Run" from a nice little four minute song into a 20 minute jam, which eventually bored the shit out of everyone.

I would pay extra they could guarantee that Lenny Kravitz didn't play.

Estranged is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated songs of the era. Fucking love that song

Glad to see Slash finally covering up his man boobs!

Going to the SSF show in a few weeks. Free ticket, otherwise there's no way I'd pay $250 to see a band 25 years past their prime ( no matter how good they sound now). A friend of mine went to the Philly show last week and found close seats in the 100 level for $55 the day before the show. Before the show started he was upgraded to 18th row on the floor.

Just a few years ago Axl said Slash was a "cancer" that he never wanted to deal with again. (This as Slash's mom just just died of cancer)

I went Tuesday night and agree, they were phenomenal, 2hrs and 40 min, no breaks, sounded great musically and vocally

My 5th time seeing them, only once with just Axl and his replacement crew. I hope that because of their age, maturity, and sobriety, they stay together. They can go off and do side projects, but after this tour they have to realize(and the fans too) that this is what GNR is now. Axl cannot ever go back to having just himself and a group of musicians play and go on tour as GNR.
Was glad I went, I originally planned on not going because of the prices, but got hooked up with a friend in the Foxwoods luxury box for free, but if I was 20 years younger and could function in two straight nights of 5hr sleep at work I would have went the next night, they were that good.

what time have they usually been hitting the stage? 10:00? I have tickets for Saturday night and have no interest in seeing Kravitz.

I didn't know they were playing anything off of Chinese Democracy but I haven't been keeping up. I really love some songs off of that album, so that's good. It's good to see that Slash isn't a mark for himself and he's playing Bucket Head's, or whichever session guy, solos.
