And some of you seem to hate him....

But what were your guys' thoughts on Artie? I really think him leaving was the end of the show being any good. Even his faults made him interesting.

I think it's funny that what Howard lies about is unbearable; When Artie lied about stuff, it made for compelling radio.

So what's your thoughts? Was he universally loved by you guys or did some of you not like him at all?

I don't particularly like Artie's personality either. He is/was as repulsive as Howard in many (both similar and different) aspects, but you don't have to be likable to be funny. Artie was great until his last year on the show. He provided most of the comedy and entertainment on the show up until that point.

His fighting and ballbusting with pretty much EVERYBODY (callers, whack packers, porn stars, dumb whores, random guests, staffers, other celebrities) are some of the funniest moments on the show EVER.

And yes as good and better than ANYTHING the Jokeman and the Stuttering moron ever did on the show.

I've never much cared for Howard as a person. Nor did I ever much care for Artie.

I've always been one of the hate-listeners. Although there's always been the element of comedy and good interviews that broke up the hate.

Yeah, Artie seemed to have a window of when he was awesome. In the beginning he didn't really have the confidence to chime in (and didn't really say anything all that funny when he did) and then around like...04 or so he seemed to be getting it together. Then, everyone pissed him off and he was gold.

The only thing I didn't/don't like about Artie is that retarded, put-on gravelly voice.

I saw him in Boston at a comedy show at what I think may be the height of the drug use (2009) and he was god awful, that being said...I sure do miss him on the show. Stern Show Shuffle really hammers that point when they are playing bits from 2011-2010.

I loved Artie on the show, never liked his stand up though. When he genuinely laughed hard I would lose it

The "I-I-I *cough-wheeze*" crap he'd use all the time was insufferable.

Pretty good on the show when he was awake. He has no stand-up "act" that can even be considered eligible for a rating.

I think Artie was a good guy and all, but I'm baffled by those who thought he brought anything funny to the table. My started to listen less and less after Jackie and Billy left. Once the shit stirrer, Stuttering John departed the show really headed south. Artie was the last one left to call Howard out on his bullshit, but that was more the drugs talking than him. As for Howard, yes I actually do hate him now, but not as much as I hate myself for not seeing what a phony he was for almost 20 years and I'm a guy who always prided himself on being a good judge of character. That really irks me the most.

I know what you mean....I think Billy was a BIG loss....KC too.....The wildcards ya know? There's none left.

Artie was fun because you never knew what you were gonna get.

By the end of his tenure, Artie was despised more than anyone else on the show. The ratio was about 80/20 in favor of the haters.

Listeners groaned at the repetitious stories, the flimsy "bad cop" yarns, the decreasingly credible tales of wild partying, etc.

To an unfortunate extent, the show became about narrating Artie's self-destructive behavior. The fans found it tedious before long. I remember listeners celebrating Artie-free shows.

After Artie's firing, public opinion swung in his favor pretty rapidly. For obvious reasons.

Howard's sins aren't exclusive to him. For example I was listening to the latest Adam Carolla Podcast and that Cunt Lisa Lampamanley and him went on for some time shitting on paying audience members and took a high handed elitist view about them and where they live.
