I wouldn't mind having one of these. If it worked with an iPhone I would buy it.

Would you say it's worth that incredible amount of money?

    Can you post some shots?

For me, it is. I love street photography, and this is perfect. I don't have a lot of pics hosted from my RX1, but here's one I snapped at a friends house...straight out of the camera jpeg, no post processing. Shot at f/2. You have to be comfortable shooting at 35mm, though. Not a problem for me as it's my favorite focal length. Though, you can utilize a digital zoom that can expand it to 45mm and 70mm.

It's so light/portable in almost literally goes with me everywhere.

I can tell you that if you're accustomed to zooms and or having multiple primes on hand, the adjustment could be severe. Before this, I had a 5D II and an assortment of primes ranging from 17mm-135mm. Loved the Canon L glass. But, got tired of lugging around a 20+ lb bag and a bulky dslr when walking around. A quick check of my lightroom worklow showed probably 75% of my keeper shots were from the 35mm focal length. So I sold off my dslr kit and lept into this after reading reviews and browsing pics on flickr. The quality/portability ratio is unmatched. I also sprung for the viewfinder, so if you're not fond of composing with the LED screen, you'll want that, and IIRC it adds another $200-ish.

I will admit that I do miss the flexibility on multiple lenses and I'm considering hopping into the micro 4/3 world. I'm considering buying an Olympus Pen E-P5 and a couple of Olympus' beautiful primes along with maybe a zoom. But I'll keep this.

Did you get the digital or the analog viewfinder?

And how is the speed? Does it focus quickly enough to get spontaneous action shots if something happens in front of you unexpectedly?

And I hear ya. I currently have a Canon 450D with a couple of nice lenses and a Speedlite 580 II. I have a 17-55mm f/2.8 and the 50mm f/1.4 prime. It's great, but it's such a bitch to lug around. On my last couple of holidays, I left it at home because I didn't feel like carrying it around, which is a shame since it's all really good stuff I paid a lot of money for. I am going to New Zealand in a month or so, and I already know I'm leaving the DSLR at home, even though it's probably the most photogenetic place in the world. When I'm over there, I'm going on hikes, so I'm packing light. Taking all my DSLR stuff, or even just the body with one lens, takes up too much space and weight.

I can deal with a prime lens, especially if it's a fantastic one like on this camera. The 50mm f/1.4 I have on my Canon blows me away every time I see it, and this Zeiss lens on this little Sony is supposedly even sharper.

Have you also considered the Sony NEX series or the Fujifilm X100S?

Seems like a camera would make more sense. You have to attach it to your phone and it costs as much as a nice camera. The only advantage I see is that you can share them instantly but you can get a camera with wi-fi or just wait til you get home.

I take it back, it was $450...forgot I spent that much on it. But, it's a great view finder, and I need it. I hate using the screen.

AF is not the fastest, but it's just fine for what I use it for. I haven't really used it for any "action" shots, but I suspect it might struggle. That's not its niche.
I have, but the lens selection for micro 4/3 is significantly better. I had the original Fuji X100 when it came out. It was a great camera, a little quirky, but I really struggled with the slooooow AF. Plus, it's the same fixed 35mm focal length of the RX1.
