Sorry Noel Gallagher, Adele's 25 has broken Oasis' first week sales record Noel previously said "nobody cares" what Adele's up to. Oops. When Noel Gallagher said "nobody cares" what the likes of Adele are up to, he probably wasn't expecting the singer to sneak up and break his own chart record. Adele's new album 25 has now surpassed Oasis' first week sales record according to the Official Charts. The star can currently boast 737,000 sales compared to Oasis' 696,000 in 1997 with their third album Be Here Now. BUT it's worth bearing in mind the band's album was released on a Thursday back before Friday was the global release date for new music. That means they only had three days on sale before their first chart week was tallied up. Adele's album has been notably absent from streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music, which perhaps accounts for such staggering sales figures. Then again, there's also the fact it's Adele.
