Plus it is 90 min before the parade begins and there is nobody on the street waiting for it. Usually people line up in all the good spots out of the cold wind but so far the streets are empty. The Mayor is boycotting the parade this year and it is beginning to look like "what if they gave a party and nobody came?"

Guinness Drops Sponsorship of St. Patrick's Day Parade

[IMG] Guinness announced it was dropping sponsorship of Monday's St. Patrick's Day parade.

MIDTOWN — The city's St. Patrick's Day Parade is running out of friends, fast.
Guinness, the Irish beer giant synonymous with the holiday, announced it was dropping its sponsorship of the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade because participants are not allowed to identify themselves as LGBT marchers.
"Guinness has a strong history of supporting diversity and being an advocate for equality for all," the company said in a statement. "We were hopeful that the policy of exclusion would be reversed for this year’s parade. As this has not come to pass, Guinness has withdrawn its participation. We will continue to work with community leaders to ensure that future parades have an inclusionary policy."
On Friday, Heineken announced it would drop its sponsorship of the parade because of the anti-gay policy, and the Boston Beer Company, maker of Sam Adams, withdrew support of Boston's parade as well.
The Stonewall Inn, a iconic spot for the LGBT community, had planned to stop selling Guinness on Monday to protest the company's sponsorship of the parade. With Guinness' decision, it will now serve the beer.
Gay advocacy group GLAAD, which had pressured parade sponsors to drop out, praised the move.
"Today, Guinness sent a strong message to its customers and employees: discrimination should never be celebrated," said GLAAD CEO and President Sarah Kate Ellis in a statement. "As a gay mom who has fond memories of the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade, it saddens me that I can't give those same memories to my own kids because my family isn't welcome. Hopefully, as parade organizers realize that anti-LGBT discrimination is not supported by sponsors, or many Irish New Yorkers, they'll see that families like mine should be part of the celebration."
Mayor Bill de Blasio and the City Council both said they would boycott the parade because of its policy against LGBT groups. Officials instead marched in the LGBT-friendly St. Pat's for All parade on March 2.
The parade kicks off at 11 a.m. on Monday at West 44th Street and Fifth Avenue.

Does St. Patrick's day need corporate sponsors?

its an Irish celebration parade. if there is no beer and green bagels, the parade starts at 11am and the party ends at 11:15am.

Crazy, it is said that 2-3% of the population is gay yet they dominate all aspects of everyone's life and especially popular culture.

Seemingly we have stopped worrying about AIDS and all other manner of disease and glorified this gay lifestyle.

It's not just Guiness. Heineken and Sam Adams also dropped their sponsorships in both NYC and Boston.

Not to mention how much gay bars sell in booze.

The Stonewall in NYC is a pretty powerful voice. If they cut you out, you're gonna feel it.

They allowed women suffragettes to march with their political banners but won't allow gay people to do the same and they ridiculously avoid a response to that discrepancy.

Basically, they're pussies. They won't just come out and say they don't want gay people marching in the parade as actual gay people. They want us in the closet in the parade.

    IT'S A FUCKING PARADE. :jj:

2.2% of the country is jewish
4.0% of the country is LGBT

and those two groups (acknowledging a degree of overlap) allegedly controls the media, the fashion industry, politics (depending on how much familial inbreeding exists for those making the claim), the financial industry (again depending upon the amount of assistance being received by those making the claim), etc.

basically 5% of the country allegedly controls the living conditions of the rest of the country.

depending upon the degree of familial inbreeding, and the level of socio-political manipulation experienced, of those making the claims.

maybe its time to move on from such silly generalizations and the misuse of poor statistics.

    reading this might help:

if you deny people the right to be themselves in the parade, as they are doing to the LGBT community, you are excluding them. enforced conformity is passive-aggressive exclusion.

They EXPLICITLY said they dont want any floats identified as being of the LGBT community - if they (The LGBT Community) seem to have a disproportionate amount of power then that's a different issue but there was a definite discrimination.

At least the heebs came upon their power by working their asses off and achieving. The fags are getting it all via sympathy and progressive "enlightenment".

Gimme a break. They can attend the parade and be themselves. They just can't use the parade for their cause/agenda. Now whether other groups are allowed to represent themselves and the LGBT aren't is a different issue. Just go to the parade, get drunk like all of the other assholes there and don't use the parade to forward your cause. BTW……any group crying about stupid shit like this can fuck off. :pissed:

Are you trying to say that Guinness, Heineken are not going to be served in Boston or NY? LOL
