Saw it Sunday. Not bad. Good summer movie. About as interesting as the last one. Will probably do big bucks.

All the noise about the gay Sulu was just BS. Yes he is gay; yes he has a bf and a child, but you hardly see it. Maybe one scene and it adds absolutely nothing to the story. Its more of a cameo than anything else.

Glad they made sulu true to life.

Not looking forward to this one, the first remake was an ok movie, the second was garbage.

There were plenty of potential scenes: they could have thrown in an "oh my!"

Thios just needed something to talk aboot.
Sulu was not written as a gay man.
    Takei even said this.
They just need people talking about a franchise that is not doing near as well as Star Wars at the box office.

You can see from the one less than 60 second scene that it was hastily stuffed in during post processing, was not included at any time during the scriptwriting, and has absolutely no impact on and nothing to do with the story.

They should have gone the TNG route and had a couple of guys in dresses trot around in the background.

I just saw it. It was goofy as hell. And this weird guy behind me saw the photo at the end and said loudly, "Thath the catht photo from Thtar Trek Five or Thix!" He was so excited.

it just needed a Gorn for Kirk to fight.

Those little gerbil creatures were so lame. The only good thing about the scene was when their leader says the other side wants to eat them and Kirk reacts "eat?" and then the gerbils attack him. Someone writing it was way too in love with the early series.

Saw it, liked it..typical Kirk & company save the day. Hey...it is an escapism movie.

FYI--Don't pay extra to see in 3D. Not worth it.

I laughed when they used music to defeat the swarm, too. I mean it was the most fun I've had at a Star Trek film since I saw the one where they go back in time to save the whales.
