Not really as into the second one as the first one. Kinda lame given the endless possibilities.

I saw both as well, just one thing that confused the hell out of me... how did old Spock communicate with the new spock? Seemed like it came out of nowhere.
Can someone explain that scene to me?

Yea, that's the only way to know about the Spock timeline thing.

I like the reboot, I think Abrams is doing a great job staying faithful to the basis of the original genre of ST movies while also bringing it to modern film-making. I was worried he would make it too much action and explosion and ruin the idea of "exploration."

    I only had two gripes.

    a. working in all the cheesy catch phrases seemed to take away from the movie and make it a joke. The movie is quality and didn't need those moments.
    b. I understand the time travel storyline of the original was so he could bring old Spock into the timeline but it was somewhat poorly done and I think a bit confusing for many viewers. They should have nixed the whole part and made Nemoy spocks dad and expanded his part and saved him for the explosion.

That's right, I forgot about old Spock being in the first one and witnessing Vulcan being destroyed
