Listen, I love Star Wars, and plan on being at the midnight screening of The Force Awakens at my local theater in December, but enough is enough with these money grabs. And no, Episodes IV. V, and VI will not be available in their original, unaltered format; special editions only.

If someone gave these to me as a gift, then I'd have no problem putting in my Blu-Ray library, but I already bought the complete saga on Blu-ray a few years ago, so what's the diff?

    MERCHANDISE // AUGUST 5, 2015

THE STAR WARS SAGA TO BE ENSHRINED IN LIMITED EDITION BLU-RAY STEELBOOKS
PLAQUES OF THE LEGENDARY HEROES AND VILLAINS IN THE TIMELESS SPACE EPIC.
Each cover looks like they’ve been airbrushed by a magic wand. The seams, the tattoo patterns, and the little cracks making their way down the skull-like forehead tell us so much without a single word accompanying them. Imperfections never looked so perfect.

As fans count down the days until the long-awaited seventh episode of the Star Wars saga, they’ll have something else to look forward to as the first six will be released as commemorative Blu-ray steelbooks for a limited time on November 10, with pre-orders beginning on August 7. Each film comes with beautiful new character packaging that include Darth Maul for The Phantom Menace, Yoda for Attack of the Clones, General Grievous forRevenge of the Sith, Darth Vader for A New Hope, an Imperial stormtrooper for The Empire Strikes Back, and Emperor Palpatine for Return of the Jedi. Star Wars: The Complete Saga will also be released in newly-repackaged artwork on October 13.

In addition to the collectible steelbook packaging, each Blu-ray disc features existing audio commentary with George Lucas and the film crew as well as audio commentary from archival interviews with the cast and crew.

The Complete Saga includes all six feature films on Blu-ray, along with three additional discs containing more than 40 hours of previously-released extensive special features.

I know, we hardly see storm troopers in Empire, except for the shootout in Cloud City in the last 30 minutes.

Vader should be on Empire's cover, and R2-D2/C-3PO should be on A New Hope

    I agree.

I'm tired of them re releasing these films. The altered versions of 4 , 5 and 6 made me mental as it is.

You can't even find the original versions anymore.

We should start a petition to get Lucas or Disney , whoever has the rights to it now to release Digitally remastered versions of the films the way they where originally presented in the theaters in the 1970s and 80s.

If there were ever a reason to bootleg a movie, it would be any of Lucas' Star Wars remakes.

    Hate that dude.

He's trying to ruin my childhood memories just to take in more money.

There's no reason to get the original trilogy in blue ray. They don't have the resolution and looks grainy. I can't tell you about the second trilogy but from my experience, any movie made pre blue ray looks grainy on blue ray.
