That was never in dispute. The issue was whether Howard was entitled to an additional bonus on top of that one, a much larger one.

It was never legally in dispute.

I think OP is referring to the times Pelican claimed to have zero stake in a merger.

I remember him saying it several times. He'd go on a big long rant about the FCC and politicians holding up the merger and at the end he'd say there was nothing in it for him, he just thought it was a good deal for the subscribers. Lying sack of shit.

that's what pissed me off. I also heard him say many times he had no financial gain in the merger! and of course right after the merger the price went up

I also remember him saying (countless times) how big a risk it was leaving terrestrial radio and the reason he deserved the huge bonus he sued for was because his career could've ended had satallite radio not survived. He claims he was a trailblazer and was the one who risked everything when he left for the new medium. Sorry, but it's not a huge risk when you are gauranteed 25 mill up front. I would love to have risks like that in my life. The decision process must've been excruciating for him.:rolleye::facepalm:

What do you expect him to do with a measly $25M? You can't even buy a decent mansion in Palm Beach with that.

i was listening to the 9 oclock feed. two minutes in "a caller" came on to be the facilitator of his rant....of course, he doesn't mention the 25 million and now he's exhaaaaaaaausted by AGT.

he got himself into this shit, now he's whining.

People shouldn't forget the extent that Howard went to in promoting the merger. Do you guys remember that he had big (awkward) segments with Senator Arlen Specter and Jim Kramer to discuss almost nothing but the merger and why it was unfair for the government to hold up approving it? Those interviews (especially the one with Specter) really shocked me when they aired because it was so transparent how he (and probably Sirius) were in trying to get his fans to apply pressure to the government. It sort of reminded me of Howard's supposed sit-down with Michael Jackson where Howard claimed to be getting lobbied to rally to Michael's defense. If nothing else, it showed how Specter and Kramer were basically "for sale" with their opinions (Specter was getting run out of the Republican party) and Kramer is just a sleazy fucking scumbag. Plus, both of them are tribesmen just like Howard. Just sayin....
