The Judge bombs on opening night, and earns 48% on RottenTomatoes. I had a feeling that quote on quote "friend of the show" Robert Downey Jr. stuping to coming into the studio for the first time meant it was probably in trouble, and then when he mentioned his wife was a producer, it left no doubt.

Anyone see this clunker? I actually have to wonder how bad it can really be with RDJ and Bobby D - both of whom are obvious great talents otherwise.

I don't see a movie like this making any money.

I could see it being a good movie, but to make money these days in the box office, your movie either needs to be from a popular book series, an action movie, a comic, or something in pop culture.

I saw November Man last night, and it was a damn cool action flick! In fact I think it was better then and last couple Bond movies!

November Man was ho-hum, actually over -rated (not worth getting into specifics because it doesn't matter) Ok as something to watch, but not a good movie by any stretch. I'm not a fan of all these movies shooting in Easter Europe. Pierce Brosnan is going to be the next Steven Segal - having all his movies filmed in Serbia and Romania.

Whenever they cannot decide how to market a film, you know it's a mess. With this one they would have serious dramatic commercials, whacky flippant ones, and some with both themes. I saw a list of overrated actors that had Downey Jr. on it. Says he's fine but plays the same personality in every film. All I know is they couldn't stop him from sucking dick in "less than zero".

So you're saying that a movie Whorsie was able to sit thru, without going shopping, is less than box office gold?

From the ads I really can't tell if it's a Grisham-esque tale, a family drama or what?

I agree; if I like the story and who's in the film ...I see it. Saw the trailer, it's an interesting story so I hope to see it this weekend ...I think it will do good at the box office this weekend. Billy Bob has that "look" going on in this film ( same look he had in Love Actually playing the President)...very elder statesmen (sexy) look! HE might be in for another Oscar....not RDJ

BTW ,,,I plan on seeing the Bill Murray film, St. Vincent ....saw the trailer looks REALLY good!

    peace & love

    sorry meant to say 3.5

Deep family drama between RDJ and Duvall

I may be bias, Duvall is possibly my fave actor....but I liked it. Donafrio as always was pretty good in a supporting role....Billy Bob is great

No explosions, No CGI, No nudity, No kittens playing with yarn.............Plus Plot, Story, And you'll have to think your way through it.....
All of this equals "Box Office Poison"..........

yep, I saw the trailer.....I would say it's all of that. I love films about Mending Fences and this has to do with estranged Father & Son re-connecting. I love Robert Duvall....and RDJ....the scenes with Billy Bob as the Prosecutor = Oscar worthy?? IMO

    peace & love
