They started talking about the Tommy's death on Monday but stopped within a few seconds so that they wouldn't keep Joey Boots waiting.

    Fucking disgraceful...

Especially considering the other douchebags he spends tons of time on eulogising (and no one really gives a shit about Boots).

Joey Boots was actually a big influence on many Ramones songs:

    Gimme Gimme Cock Treatment
I Don't Want To Walk Around With Boots
    Joey Is A Manbanger
Now Boots Wants To Sniff Some Goo
    Middle-age Lobotomy
    Boots Wants To Be Fellated
I Just Wanna Have Nothing To Do
    I'm Against Clit
It's Not My Place In The 6 to 10 World

In typical Stern fashion his eulogy was a list of all the skeletons in the Ramones closet.
    Howard is a horrible person.

I gotta give Howard a break there. The Joey Boots court case may be the biggest First Amendment court case in decade. This court case give any idiot the right to shout out outdated and irrelevant catchphrases in public everywhere.

    In unrelated news.....
Stern press tours are heavily body-guarded.
Shenanigans can never occur is his fake scripted guarded world.

Sounded to me like he was just skimming through an obit. As if he didn't really know them. It's weird how he forgets even those whom he had an especially unique, dare I say close, relationship with.

Jealousy? Stern can't tolerate someone being beloved or celebrated?

See Howard's eulogy to Dick Clark.
Dick Clark wasn't nothing but nice to Stern. He played along with all the Stern horse shit when he was on the show.
Stern's eulogy to him was that he was a thief!

    Howard is a monster!

My favorite part about that block was how the so called Ramones expert had 90% of his facts wrong and Fred was just as bad.

There's always a time lag before the "reality" finally overtakes the prevailing "perception." But it most always inevitably does - especially when the subject of which is actively pouring fuel on that fire.

That's what I thought too. From the documentary, Tommy left drumming because he never really wanted to drum and chose to move on to producing. Stern said it was because of bad blood. I don't think that's right.

Exactly. Tommy sang and played guitar in other bands before the Ramones. His role originally was more like a manager and Joey was the drummer. Dee Dee was on vocals but couldn't sing and play at the same time so Tommy suggested they audition for a new drummer and Joey become the singer. He became the drummer by default because they couldn't find anyone that fit the sound they were going for.

He remained on good terms with the band still worked with them as a producer (and played guitar solos since Johnny only played rhythm) long after quitting the band.
