Holy Shit - the movie opened in nearly 3,000 theaters and must've sold one ticket in each.

Way further down the chart, Hit & Run, which was made for $2 million, then acquired and marketed by Open Road, already looks to be D.O.A. at the box office. Despite a wide theater count in 2,870 locations, the Dax Shephard/Kristen Bell/Bradley Cooper comedy launched in eighth place with a paltry $625,000 on its first day Wednesday. That, and the film’s “C+” CinemaScore grade doesn’t bode well for the weekend. It may pick up a wretched $3 million.

If only that shooter had decided to open fire on the premier of Hit and Run. There would've been no injuries.

Bradley Cooper gets a cut of the net. Don't wait up for that check.

3 million box office means the movie makes 1 1/2 million in the first weekend, for a movie that costs 2 million to make. Sounds like "winning" to me.

How about promotion, marketing, fees, fees and fees?

They probably spent $5 million to market the movie.

Actually, that was Cooper. He was really hoping to see those numbers otherwise he worked all that time for a motorcycle he could have purchased 100x over with his normal salary.

Wouldn't that be 1 million that it would make. But you also have to figue in the ammount that the distributor shelled out to promte it, which is usually at least a couple of million with tv, radio and print ads. This movie is making no money any time soon.

The 2 million is deceiving because it looks like the actors took no pay in exchange for a cut of the movie. If you took actor pay out of most movies, their budgets would plummet. Assuming each of those idiots probably would have been paid 3-5 mil, you can add another 15-20mil to the budget.

Thank God! I heard part of the interview with those 2 annoying douchebags (3 if you count Howard) and just about threw up.

Poorly marketed. They should have concentrated on the fact that the film stars the ex-Mr Roseanne Barr, Tom Arnold. C'mon guys, it's Tom! He starred in The Stupids. He wore a straw hat.

No! No one knew the start times, one city it was 1:00, 3:00, 5:00, 7:00, and 9:00. And in another city it was 1:30, 3:30, 5:30, 7:30, and 9:30!

So everyone was confused and stayed home.

I actually saw it last night--not terrible, not too great either; reminiscent of those Saturday afternoon cool-car-chase-scenes/stupid-plot/hot-chick movies that I used to watch in the 70's--think, "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry".

It worked for a pre-teen kid in the 70's, not so much today...

There is a rather odd, uncomfortable scene retelling of a jail rape that just isn't funny (despite the obvious potential).

And Dax, we get it, you have a cool car and you like gay people.

Those guys are Dax's friends, they probably did it more as a favor to him. They all did Brother's Justice, his kinda shitty directorial debut, for free.
