Comiskey was filled to capacity; the official attendance was more than 59,000. An estimated 15,000 fans milled outside the park. After the first game, which the Sox lost 4-1, Dahl ceremoniously blew up a crate filled with disco records. All was orderly up to that point. But as Dahl finished, thousands of fans stormed onto the field, tearing up clumps of sod, burning signs, knocking over a batting cage and flinging records like so many Frisbees. Police arrested 37 people; by the time order was restored, the grounds were little more than a grassy moonscape. The second game was canceled and later awarded to the Tigers by forfeit.

"Good Artists Borrow, Great Artists Steal"

I've always wondered why Howard never credits Dahl for being an innovator in radio, but for all we know it was Jackie or Fred sealing bits back in the day.

Dan Felato must be bursting Artie's bubble. I love it when Artie brings up Steve Daaaahhll in a thick Chicago accent on the Nick & Artie Show.

Howard was an original guy as he invented the idea of ripping off Steve Dahl. Good thing for Stern that the internet wasn't around back then or he would have been exposed a phony. I remember Steve Dahl used to say that Howard was ripping him off in the early/mid 80s, but no one in Chicago had heard of Howard Stern show back then.

A few years ago over on SFN someone posted a link that had audio of Dahl doing Stern stuff before Howard invented it.
    Anyone have that link?

The one I vaguely remember hearing is the traffic copter negro using the megaphone done by Dahl way before Howard.
Dahl might have done lesbian dating before Wiggy too.

For someone that is so quick to point his finger at other people for stealing his ideas, you think he would at least throw a shout out to Dahl.

Stern always avoided mentioning Dahl. He had no problem talking about Imus or Mancow or Rick Dees or Mark&Brian or Greaseman or DiBella...but honest to God, I don't recall him ever referring to Dahl.

Stern took all the credit for the "Vote for Sanjaya" drama.
Every DJ in the country was on it before Wiggy jumped in and invented it......and took all the press.

I recently listened to some 1995 shows where Stern was suing some company for being fired in Chicago. He mentioned and scull fucked everyone in Chicago. Dahls name is mentioned but nothing else. Everyone else got a personalized scull fucking.

Dahl had the funniest song parodies back in the day (late 70's early 80's). One that stands out to me was to the tune "The Wall" by Pink Floyd and was about John Wayne Gacy.

Hey Gacy! Leave those kids alone
All in all you're just a
    'nother kid in the crawl(space)

For Howard not to give a nod to Dahl over the years just shows what a fucking phony Stern really was.

Dahl and wiggy both worked at the same radio station in Detroit in the early eighties. Dahl did mornings and wiggy did afternoons. I remember Dahl back then talking about watching the Blues Brothers and Real Life on VHS and I was jealous he was so rich he could afford such cutting edge technology. Dahl is unlistenable now but he was great back then.
