I welcome any well wishes and/or amusing posts to help me pass the time.
Dog bite. Left hand. Thumb is purple & numb.
That sucks. Your dog or someone elses?
hows your connection?
I didn't do it!
I'd venture to guess his connection with the dawg dog went badly.
Thanks for keeping me company.
Needed a few stitches in my thumb. Back home now.
It was our dog--Harvey.
We started obedience training for him last week, and everything had been going great up until this morning. His biggest problem was that he'd spazz out when coming back home for a walk, and start nipping the leash and my arm.
Our trainer told us to give him a firm snap on the training collar to correct this, and if he got really out of control, to put a thumb at a pressure point his jawbone, which wouldn't hurt him, but immobilize him.
That's when Harvey got a hold of my thumb.
Aww Harvey doesn't look like he'd hurt a fly.
But now he has a taste for blood.
Pretty good obedience training. He just trained you not to put your thumb near his mouth.
nyuck nycuk nyuck
The tough part will be figuring out where to go from here. Can we write this off as puppies being puppies, or does it show a propensity for violent behavior? As much as we love Harvey, there's no way we'll risk this kind of thing--or worse--happening to one of our kids.
Have your kid put his thumb by the dog's mouth
