Not sure how much of this is reported in the American media, but Sweden has had a violent last few months like no other. Last night, two men wearing skeleton masks shot 10+ people in a restaurant in Stockholm, killing at least 2. Earlier this year, 3 young adults were found murdered. outside. in a quiet suburban neighborhood, not far from Stockholm (I believe). Two of them had been shot to death in a car, and the third was shot and killed down the street, trying to escape. Apparently it happened in the wee hours of the morning, and local residents, who heard the shooting, thought it was firecrackers. A few hours later, when people were leaving their homes to go to work, they saw what had actually happened. But the most bizarre tale of them all, and I can't believe this hasn't gotten more attention: A couple of months ago, Swedish police released the audio recording of a chilling 911/emergency call, in which a Swedish teen, who had been shot 6-7 times, was not believed by the operator. It was shocking to hear the teen beg for the operator to believe him, and to send help, all while he was clearly dying (though he survived). The TWIST, however, and this barely made news, even though the original call caused an uproar, is that, the teen himself is now accused of being involved in a shooting that claimed several lives. It's crazy enough that there was an incident in which a teenager was shot 6-7 times and survived, but was not believed when calling 911, but then it turns out that he himself is now under investigation for an incredibly brutal crime. Pretty crazy. I have more info if anyone is interested in links to news stories or whatever.
