    But is it really free? Isn't Windows 10 supposed to be subscription based now?

    That is cool. I'll put it on one of my tainted hard drives to check it out.

    Because it's better than Win 8 or 8.1, and 7 is getting a little long in the tooth.

    Win 10 :: Win 8 as Win 7 :: Vista

    What if we're still using XP? Asking for a friend.

    My problem is that every time there's a new release, it takes about a year to work out the bugs. I don't want to be part of the debugging crowd when everything is working fine.

    The beauty of this release is that it is being beta tested and refined by users as we speak. They are making constant adjustments based on tester feedback. You can wake up tomorrow and some features will be added or tweaked.

    There will be no giant service packs. It should be the best windows yet.

    Anyone using XP is taking a big risk if they go online at all. It's not getting any security updates so it's ripe for hackers to plunder.

    That's a bold move by Microsoft. Let's hope Windows 10 doesn't suck like Windows 8.

    Windows 8 is a terrific operating system. Leaps and bounds better than 7 under the hood.
