    C'mon dude.

He was American and was thrown into an internment camp because he was Japanese.

You'd be a tad pissed if it happened to you. And strangely, Takei really does not wear the experience like a cross.

    WAAAAaaaaaaaH
    I had a vacation in a camp!

It's not like he was pushed off a cliff or shot in the head and buried in a mass grave.

    From that trailer:

"As a boy, I looked out at the world imprisoned behind the barbed wire fences of American interment camps. It was a painful moment."

With his next sentence he does a 180 and declares:

"I don't believe in negativity. You determine your destiny."

Essentially, he is saying that he chose to be in an interment camp and it is a positive experience. He determines his destiny, bitches!

And yet he still supports the same politicians that threw his ass in the internment camp.

Remember when this guy was on celebrity apprentice. He was pretty much clueless to the world and rather helpless when left to his own devices. It was kinda sad. I have a feeling George is one of those guys who has "help" handling most if his affairs.

And his husband looks an awful lot like glen beck. :giggle:

They were in camps more for their own protection than anything else.
People were more simple minded and brutal back then and after Pearl Harbor they were looking for Japs to beat up.
Takei has been milking this experience since day one and it's getting very old already.

George Takei is in the stern studio 03-29-10 when Howard Stern is gay bashing bullying and outing Jamie Foxx!

What's amazing, George has bitched about William Shatner and the shadow of Star Trek for years, and that there is so much more to him and his life then that. Then he makes this movie about his horrifying short stint in the camp, which actually gave him the character to seek out his dream of acting and the ability to earn a comfortable living. And look who the movie is built around!

His gay lover, Hair Club Howie, and all the Star Trek people.
    Actors
George Takei, Brad Takei, William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Nichelle Nichols, Howard Stern, Dan Savage, Walter Koenig

How is it possible to have a discussion about a political action by a sitting President of the US without dragging politics into it?

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it -- George Santayana

I feel terribly for all those rounded up - they lost their businesses, dignity and so forth.

But what you write is correct. My dear grandparents and I would talk about this frequently. They would always say that it couldn't be emphasized enough the confusion of that time, and how traumatized people were. They genuinely thought the government had been infiltrated and so on.

You know whats more wrong than a Japanese Internment camp?

George's feet - That looks like some painful torture and he did it himself, well after the internment camp. He must have been doing Japanese feet wrapping.
