Were there any off ice issues with Hall?

I don't think so, but he was the guy taken ahead of Seguin in the draft. Just didn't live up to the hype being drafted #1 overall

Still pretty damn good though. And still young. Dumb trade for the oilers.

Why Taylor Hall? Might be the best player on the team (except McDavid) and, from what I can tell, a good kid.

I am from Edmonton (not an oilers fan) and have seen Hall play a lot and he is a defensive liability and he is reckless. They could of gotten more but not many teams will part with a solid young Dman. Since Yak is worth next to nothing it had to be Hall that went and also with the pick the oilers got this draft it makes him redundant.

Is Nugent-Hopkins > Taylor Hall in your opinion?

tough to say Nuge is more of a playmaker and Hall more of a pure goal scorer both are defensive fuck ups. Doesnt matter if you score 4 if they let 5 in. I think both were up for grabs though it just happened to be Hall

I'm a die hard oiler fan...sort of torn about this trade because I like how Hall plays, goes hard but as mentioned he is a defensive liability. I would rather have seen Nuge, Eberle, or Yakupov gone but we desperately need some solid defense. every time I watch Eberle play I get pissed off. very skilled, but the laziest fucking player on the team

Most people are saying that Hall is not meshing well with McDavid, making him a 2nd line winger who's making $6 million a year. 2nd line wingers aren't worth $6 million a year. McDavid is the future and Edmonton felt they needed to get better on defense. Apparently, skilled wingers who make $2-$4 million a year are a dime a dozen in the NHL. Time will tell on who gets the better of this trade.

Agreed @DinnerSocks the center position and D are more coveted. The kid they drafted this year is supposed to be the "Kurri" for McD, Oilers took a gamble, it just puzzling why this wasn't done sooner.

The Subban and Webber trade is an interesting one, both have ludicrous contracts. I feel Webber will chew up the Eastern conference and Subban plays more like a forward than a dman so I think he will struggle a bit. It certainly will be a boring July 1st

I actually feel bad for pk and weber. Though I can't stand him, PK seemed really into the legacy of being a mtl Canadian and did a lot of work with the community. Even learned some french.

Weber was the face of that Nashville franchise. Probably be the 1st jersey they retire.

Larsson is mediocre. A 4 or 5 dman at best on a good team. Prolly get top pairing in edmonton with how bad their blue line is. Nice pick up by the devils.

Patrick Kane was a defensive liability, he got better....and has hoisted three Stanley Cups. I love this trade so much if I'm a Devils fan.
