    A Pictou County judge is expected rule this afternoon whether a local teacher charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and two counts of luring minors is criminally responsible for the offences.

    Carolyn Amy Hood, who goes by her middle name Amy, is accused of luring two former male students who were 15 at the time. Hood was a teacher at Thorburn Consolidated School when alleged offences occurred in the summer of 2013.

    Provincial court Judge Del Atwood is expected to deliver his verdict this afternoon in Pictou.

    Hood's lawyer argued at trial last year that she should be found not criminally responsible because she suffers from bipolar disorder and was in a manic state.

    The Crown has argued that Hood knew what she was doing and called her interactions with the boys an escape from an "unpleasant" domestic situation.

    During her trial, the court heard that Hood exchanged text messages of a sexual nature with the students and some of those texts included pictures. Hood is also accused of performing oral sex on one of the students in her vehicle.

    Hood's lawyer, Joel Pink, said the defence admits to evidence in four of the counts she's charged with: two of luring, one of sexual interference and one of sexual exploitation.

    Four psychiatrists testified during the trial: three for the defence and one for the Crown

    There always seems to be references like that in these articles, like the judge's name being Johnson or whatever.

    It also says the Pictou county judge, Pictou and she sent pics to some of the kids.

    "Miss Amy sent you a naked pic, yeah she sent me a Pictou"
