Anyone know who Howard paid $9000 to mount his flat screen in his New York apartment?

I want to give a double high-five to whomever fleeced Howchie for that.

Probably had to price Howard that much money due to the strong possibility that Howard would sue him for something. Most of that money probably went toward insurance.

Didn't Howard hold off on having it done, though?

They probably realized who they were dealing with and decided to trump up some bullshit charges like replacing the TV's engine.

The fact is that high end home theater installations are ridiculously overpriced. Howard might have had a flat screen installed with a surround sound system where the wires are hidden and the speakers built into the wall. Unless you want to use wireless speakers for rear speakers the biggest problem is hiding the speaker wires. If your a "Schlub" you don't care if the wires are exposed. If you have a huge net worth you want everything perfect. Does anyone really think Howard just paid for a bracket attached to wall which takes about 30 minutes to put up with the TV attached and guy just says that will be $9000 please.

Everything you're talking about should have maxed out at around $1,500 and that's Manhattan pricing. $9000 is just an absolutely beautiful fleecing of an idiot with more dollars than sense.

It was a standard, run of the mill, SMALL TV to be installed in his bathroom.

Obviously there was more to it than simply having a TV hung on the wall -- this is just more typical Howard exaggeration trying to 'relate to the guys in the trucks' while he's got a bowling alley in McMansion #1 and drops $52mil on McMansion #2

The bigger question is why anyone still believes or cares about the validity of a word out of his mouth

I can totally see Howard getting fleeced for stuff like this. He has zero handyman skills.
But even a dope could calculate putting TV on the wall...4 hours....MAX (if there were wires to run etc) equals $2250/hr. Those dudes were laughing their asses off all the way to the bank.

Much like the couple Howard bought his $52M house from, that is valued at $40M

Yeah... $9,000 is a complete fleecing, even on high end equipment... Unless you include the cost of the tv, audio equipment and speakers and are mounting a few tvs... There's the possibility that they used some switchgear, but even that is a couple hundred at the most...

Howie got fleeced a la Dave chappelle season 3.

Few months ago I was at a party in a nice house and the guy who owns it paid $7k for a custom TV mount that descends from the ceiling. The TV is basically concealed in the space behind the closet on the the 2nd floor of the house and when he presses a button on his iPhone it descends down from the storage. The TV is huge (it's 70" minimum from what I remember) so it's always put away when he doesn't watch it. The TV descends to the middle of the large living room and it can rotate so you can sit in any corner of the room and have TV face you. Custom mount was built by a local machinist and once you add all the labor and materials, it's not such an outrageous sum.

I have no idea what kind of mount Howard paid $9k for but if it's custom, $9k in Manhattan probably isn't a lot.

im sure the 9g was to run the cables inside wall..mouth boxes, electrical outlet on wall, run audio etc...and mount tv

i doubt anyone would have the balls to charge 9g just to mount a tv..i do it for $600-700

Howard probably has something close to an IMAX screen in his Hampton's Estate for sure . . . :secret:
