I think it could possibly be okay. May even be good.
I'm really not a fan of Bobby Cannavale though, I found him insufferable on Boardwalk Empire.
It's gotten solid reviews so far, especially Cannavale's performance.
I agree on the Boardwalk Empire thing though. Not sure if he just played the character over the top or if that is what the director wanted, but it failed miserably.
He's given some excellent performances, namely Joe in The Station Agent, so I'm hoping it was the later.
That Sturgill Simpson theme song sounds good....
Love this era they're setting this in for the music, culture, drugs, violence, sexism, honesty
Forgot I DVRd the 1st episode. Finally got around to watching it this morning.
Solid B-, will definitely be watching.
Andrew Dice Clay as Buck Rogers stole the episode. Even made that annoying Bo Dietl seem bearable. "Do I look like an asshole?"
Dice was good in it.
And the blonde sandwich girl is hot
What are you talking about he was great in BE. Not as good as in Paul Blart though
WTF was with the ending of the first episode?
Haven't seen it yet. May check it out later. Looking forwards to west world.
It was way over the top. Even cartoon-ish.
I was fully expecting a scene where they would cut to Gyp unpacking sticks of dynamite from an ACME carton while twisting a fake mustache.
I think Winter was intrigued with the Mercer Arts Center collapse and just wanted to work it in.
The show hadn't even started yet when the actual hotel collapsed that day.
Guess he liked the thought of using it as an "emerging from the rubble" moment for Richie.
Yeah I read an article about that, he said he took artistic license with that because the collapse didn't even happen during a New York Dolls show either but he just thought it would be a cool tie in like you said.
It sucked. It's gonna use drugs and the word fuck as a crutch in every episode, I can already tell. 1 and done season, imo. But I'll check out a few more episodes.
