For me it was a month after Artie left. I'm no baby gorilla apologist, I just realized that what I liked about the show was well and truly gone, so I never went back.

The first time he had in Gilbert and didn't let him sit in for the news. I was already hating the show by then, but that made it official.

Wasn't one event, just lost all interest as the show was taken over by relentlessly boring content. However when Stern declared Tyra Banks was a new "friend" of the show, I knew a terrible precedent had been set.

So you cared enough 30 years later to post online? Do tell. Or is insulting him more fun than praising him (which at this point, it is.)?

Beth initiated his starfucking phase. After they got together and married later on, he's been obsessed with how he's perceived and has been hounding fame & celeb approval more than ever.

Artie leaving was the last straw and the point at which I lost complete respect for the wigman.

The unannounced days off and the unannounced vacations - very disrespectful of his audience.

it was a long slow decline. Artie leaving was when the show became much less enjoyable. I didn't actually turn to hatred till sandy. before then it was just disappointment.

Had I known Booey was on the forums, I would have asked him outright if it is what it is.

When he started building chimney manor, and pretended it didn't exist. can you imagine what great radio that would have been. ? everyone has contractor horror stories.
also when his lies started to become more evident. oh, and also when the yes men around him started hiding negative feedback. and when Fred started censoring the emails. and , and when he started screening the phone calls and banning phone numbers. and also when he started blaming Tim or Sirius for money issues. and when he lied to Bubba about not being in charge of the money. Fuck it . I've got more . but Fuck it ...

yeah, thats it- the whole Artie thing, and not bothering to bring anyone else in.
Plus the constant "Im heterosexual, but youre a really good looking guy, how big is your cock" shit, and the 'now, I wont say Reggie' shit.
I could go on, but why bother..

It was a steady decline, but one thing jumps out at me. In 2010, Howard strongly criticized Ricky Gervais for his performance hosting the Golden Globes. He really dug into Gervais for poking fun at Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. "Robin, you can't just go in there and make fun of these big stars. They don't have you hosting this show for the celebrities to be ridiculed to their face. He doesn't have a clue. They will never have him back."

I nearly ran off the road because Wiggy's comments made me stare at the radio so long. Eviscerating celebrities was one of the cornerstones of THSS. It certainly was one of the things I loved the most about it.

Meanwhile, Johnny Depp not only got the joke, he went on one of Gervais's shows and made fun of the whole thing. Gervais also hosted the Globes again the next year.

Yep, for me, that all marked the point of no return.

No one was more stoked than me when the announcement was made that the Stern was going to satellite. What could be better than uncensored Stern, right?

Fast forward to the first month or two after arriving at Sirius. Endless vacations, repeats, "some" Fridays off became "all."

The stock manipulation set the ball rolling and it hasn't stopped going downhill since.....

I stopped listening altogether a while ago. He still entertains me, though.....just in a different way. It's great to make fun of him because of his faggotry.
