Great idea. Really hit the spot.
when i was in 5th grade my mom made a "bouche de noel" (french log cake) for me for my french class but it had so much rum in it that madame sandburg said "i think you children might get drunk if you eat this cake."
I did that with the Black Forest cake I made for my daughter on her bday
that's funny stuff when parents make boozy cakes for their kids.
First thing she asked was "Dad,Is there alcohol in this?"
I put maybe a tad too much cherry brandy
