Politics The 70's and 80's were better because people kept who they were voting for to themselves

Remember when the most outrageous thing you would see was a political button on someones shirt?

Now everyone has to spit their candidate in your face and post about it all day on social media. Maybe technology was not the best thing for us humans.

Look out your window, its a ghost town. everyone is locked in doors on their gadgets telling everyone else what to do on twitter.

What a pathetic world we created for ourselves.

People were just as opinionated then, they just didn't have the reach or immediacy that they now have from the Internet and social media.

No internet either, so if you were that obtuse with your viewpoints, you'd be told to stfu. The media was a lot more responsible to.

It really changed with social media. Before Facebook I had Lots of actual friends I didn't know their politics. Then Facebook hits and it becomes clear they are batshit for some extreme political view. Pro Palestine, cop haters, anti vaxers, super religious, right wing, left wing etc.

It used to be that I could be friends with more people and never know. Now I think they are wacko or they think I'm wacko and it's kinda done.

Those times were better because there was no social media and there was insane creativity.
