Back in 2010, artist and photographer Rä di Martino ventured into the Tunisian desert to find the abandoned movie sets from Star Wars. The desert location was used in 1976 to film Luke Skywalker’s home planet of Tatooine.

Because the sets are located in the middle of nowhere in Southern Tunisia, they still stand today, preserved by hot, dry weather.

If they would quit blowing up the Death Star, maybe we could visit.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of women suddenly cried out in delight and were suddenly silenced.

Cool pics - interesting that it's so well preserved. I wonder what an archeologist will make of it all a thousand years from now.

Those Tunisians should be knocking chunks off of it and sell it to geeks on ebay.
