Robin....did I ever tell you how the Almond Brothers made it big after I started playing them on the air?

I think it is "Allman Brothers" Howard.

Did I tell you about my new underwear Robin?

Sad news. I saw a pic of Gregg wiping a tear from behind the Hammond the other night.

Greg A should've pitched a reality show surrounding the lead-up to his liver replacement surgery.

Then the finale could've been as exciting and explicit as Katie Couric's colonoscopy pix.

I have seen a band called Gov't Mule that seems to be most of the Allman Brothers.

I'm not sure if that was a one time thing though.

Gov't Mule was started by Warren Haynes and Allen Woody as a side project.
It took off and they left ABB to do Mule full time.
    Woody died in 2000.
    WH kept Mule going.
He returned to ABB a few years back.
Mule is still out on the road and releasing music.
WH was alternating between the two bands.
Derek Trucks occasionally plays with Mule.
He also has his own band. The Tedeschi Trucks band.
Haynes and Trucks cited their other bands/projects for their decisions to leave ABB.
Both Tedechi Trucks and Gov't Mule are great bands to see live.
They both lean towards the Jam Band genre. (be forewarned).

Love the AB. Saw them 5 times back in the early 90s at the Spectrum and also the Mann Music Center in Philly. Great jam band.

Saw the Allman's once at Trump Taj Mahal. Ziggy Marley and the Wailers opened. It was basically a 2' tall stage in a conference room. Maybe 1000people, standing room only. Great show.

All the surviving members need to be there, otherwise it's just another unknown backup band to Gregg Allman.

Like that fiasco when Diana Ross announced to the world that the surviving Supremes were reuniting, then they refused to equally pay the important singers that were part of their hits and just went with later unknown singers from long after Ross had left. The tour turned into an overpriced joke and collapsed.

Why is it tape delayed? Why can't they just broadcast it live? Are they really gonna jam that many commercials I between songs?

Very cool the way the artist worked all of those ABB references into the graphics.
